FOAM DELUGE SYSTEM

Description

Check the complete installation has been done.

Check for any physical damage.
Check for proper installation of the piping nozzle and support.
Check for proper installation of foam bladder tank & deluge
valves pipe work including trim pipe works.
Confirm that foam is fully filled in the foam tank and its ready
for functional operational
Confirm that deluge valve outlet line is connected to the foam
bladder tank and ratio proportioning device.
Confirm that pneumatic activation valve are installed and
connected to the activation of deluge valve trim network
along with alarm pressure switch and water motor gong bell
Check the proper operation of all test/isolation valves are in
normal operating condition.
Check manual release station is provided at deluge valve
Check for proper operation of the control panel.
Check all initiating devices for proper functioning.
Check all the alarm indicating devices for proper functioning.
Check for proper functioning of manual release station.
Check for proper installation and operation of manual test line
valve.
Remove the solenoid actuator valve from the deluge valve
pilot line so that activation of the release circuit will not
release foam system.
Close deluge water outlet line and foam isolation valve. so
that activation of the release of foam deluge will not release
foam system.
Activate one of the detectors inside the protected room using
a detector tester.
Confirm that SYSTEM ALARM Red LED flashes in the Foam
deluge system panel, indicating alarm condition.
Confirm that the first stage alarm Bell inside the protected
room is activated.

Remarks

Activate another detector in the same room, which is crosszoned to the previous one.
Confirm that the second stage sounder/flasher outside the
room is activated.
Confirm that SYSTEM ALARM Red LED flashes in the Foam
deluge system panel, indicating alarm condition.
After 30 seconds time delay Confirm that the solenoid valve
connected to the Deluge valve pilot line is activated.
Confirm that the DISCHARGE red LED illuminates steadily
in the Foam deluge system panel.
Confirm that deluge valve pilot line pressure dropped and
activated the water motor gong bell with PS main fire alarm
sounders/signal activated.
Silenced the alarm by pushing the alarm silence button on
Foam deluge system panel.
Reset the Fire alarm panel and foam deluge system panel by
pushing the SYSTEM RESET button.
Confirm that solenoid is connected to the deluge valve pilot
line after confirming that the panel is normal.
The foam deluge system is normalized and is put into
functional operation.
