In general, there are 5 items to remain mindful of when
operating & maintaining your filter house:
1. Assure that proper airflow & pressure drop are
maintained at optimum levels.
2. Assure that there is no in-leakage of ambient air into
the system from any source.
3. Keep filter cartridges in good condition & properly
installed.
4. Assure the dust removal system

Visually inspect all filters to make sure they are air
tight in their frame, clean & physically undamaged.
If the filter has not been pulsed in the last 3 months,
initiate the pulse cycle manually.

Periodic Check of the Pulse Cleaning Operation


Periodically during the life of the filter, perform the following steps.

A. With power into the control box, turn the pulse cleaning
switch to the MANUAL position. Each solenoid should
operate sequentially at the preset interval.
B. Check that all valves are working properly by listening for
consistent pulsing & by feeling the air blast exhausted from
the appropriate vent hole of the solenoid box.
C. Adjust the program control OFF TIME as required to meet
the interval setting.
WARNING! Wear ear protectors near filters being pulse cleaned to make
sure that eardrums are not injured by the air pulse.

Filter Element Service & Maintenance


WARNING!
Service the filter elements only when the GT shutdown.
Wear eye protection when servicing the filter elements. The
exposed filter yokes are a hazard to unprotected eyes.
Before servicing the filters: Shut off the pulse-cleaning.
Shut off the air supply & check that line pressure is 0.
All filtration & air conditioning media are combustible.
Make sure that filter media is kept away from heat sources.
Do not smoke or weld near the air filter system. All welding
must be done before installation of the inlet hood
treatment, air conditioning media, or filtration media.

Filter Element Service & Maintenance

1. Pulse cartridges average life is 2 years.


2. However, this life will be affected by the
environmental conditions at the site. When the
cartridges can no longer be pulsed back to the
low set point, they should be replaced.
3. Max dirty filter pressure drop should not > 55 daPA.
CAUTION! Use extreme care when removing or installing filter elements as
damage can result from the retention bolt impacting into the inner filter
element liner. Note also the filter element tripods extend into pedestrian
walkway. User should exercise extreme caution to avoid bodily injury from
projecting tripod elements.

1. Check the tube sheet - ensure landing


area for the gasket is clean.
2. Place short filter cartridge, gasket end
first, over the mandrel.
3. Place long filter cartridge over the
mandrel ensuring the stub on mandrel
passes through the plate on the filter.

3. Attach the rubber gasket to the mandrel


stub & tighten the TwoLock nut. Bring
cartridges together & the short cartridge
up to the tube plate ensuring the seals are
evenly compressed.
4. Tighten torque for the nut shall be 1.8 - 2
m.kg (excessive tightening risks damaging
the bottom of the large cartridge, whilst
insufficient tightening risks leading to
leakages of unfiltered air).

Filter Element Service & Maintenance


1. Perform visual inspection of the filters every 6 month2,
pending on the site location & the amount of dust in the
air. Look for any distortion or excessively dirty filters. If
there are some filters that are damaged or excessively
dirty, replaced before the regularly scheduled change
out of filters. Also at the same time, check the filters to
insure they are dry. If the filters are wet, verify the
source / reason & take corrective actions.
2. Perform visual inspection of the filters after a heavy
wind & rain/snow storm. Record the pressure gauge
readings, a significant surge in DP across the filters
means they are getting wet & take corrective actions.

Recommended that full inspection be carried out

Remove the coil assembly.
Loosen the ferrule retainer screws & remove the
ferrule / plunger assembly.
Clean all components prior to replacing with the
appropriate kit.

Clean all components.
Check that air passages & bleed holes are clear.
Exchange all components supplied in the
appropriate replacement kit.
Assemble cover to body, tighten screws.

Maintenance:
Other than Calibration Check No lubrication or
periodic servicing is required.
Keep case exterior & cover clean.
Occasionally disconnect pressure lines to vent
both sides of gage to atmosphere & re-zero.
To zero the gage:
Set the indicating pointer exactly on the 0 mark,
using the external 0 adjust screw on the cover at
the bottom.
Note that the 0 check or adjustment can only be made with
the high & low pressure taps both open to atmosphere.

Calibration Check
Select a 2nd gage or manometer of known
accuracy & in an appropriate range.
Very slowly apply pressure.
Allow a few seconds for pressure to equalize, &
compare readings.
If accuracy unacceptable, gage may be
returned to factory for recalibration.
Warning: Attempted field repair may void your warranty.
Recalibration or repair by the user is not recommended. For
best results, return gage to the factory.
