(S5C5PO1)
PO 4. Describe the basic assumptions of kinetic molecular theory. (S5C5PO4)

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Google Sites are a way that the teacher can create multiple sites or just one for their students. This website is
also an app that Google provides to enable the instructor to store information for their students if they wish to
in a creative way. Google Sites also allows the instructor and the students to collaborate and share ideas. If
the student missed a day he or she can visit the Google Site and find the assignments that they missed and
they can work on it from home. They can also have a Discussion board and have the students help each other
if the instructor is not around.
INTEGRATION IDEA - PORTFOLIOS
How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote student-centered learning?
I definitely would use this website/app in my classroom. It's a great way to store information for the students.
As an instructor you can also use useful links that will help the student if they need extra support
understanding the material from the class lesson. You can also make a drop box for the students to turn in
their homework. I also thought of adding a discussion board for the student incase the instructor is not
available to answer the students questions there will be other students that can answer the question. This site
will allow the students to share what they learned and if they find any useful links they can share them to the
instructor so that the teacher can see if they will help the students. I think that This Google site will help the
students work independently.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
Based on the value-added rating scale above, how would you rate the technology
integration you described, using the selected resource?
I would give Google Sites a 3, since it helps provide the teacher and the students a helping hand. The
instructor will not always be able to help the student when they are not next to the student. Now if the
student needs help, the instructor will be able to help the student when they are both at home or if the Teacher
is currently away from the website. Another student will be able to help the student that need the help or help
answer their question that they may have on their homework or assignments. On the Website portfolio I can
add links were the students can actively learn about how Temperature is actually the kinetic energy in the
molecules and elements that are moving. which is one of the objectives for the lesson. so the reason that I
think this deserves a 3 is that it will always promote active learning. In chemistry there will always be a demo
that can be used for the learning of the students. Aning that I want the student to check out would ne on the
website and would make it possible for all the content standards that I would want my students to meet would
be on the site.
Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.
Although it would not be impossible for the instructor to teach the material without this tool, I still believe
that it will optimis the students learning since they will have a better understanding of the concept that is
going to be taught. They will be actively learning and everything on the site will be easy for the student to
find. The web sites can act like a study guide for the students, if they want to review they will be able to
access whatever the instructor wants the students to have access to.
