Standard 6.

2
Throughout the ITEC program at Kennesaw State University,
candidates are asked to reflect on the important course activities
that they completed during each class. The reflections for each
class are documented in a blog format using the website Weebly.
Each reflection is done individually and the candidate reflects on
the course work, what they learned, how the experiences
impacted them professionally, and how they plan to use what
they learned to make an impact in education.
The Weebly Blog demonstrates mastery of PSC Standard 6.2
because it shows my ability to regularly evaluate and reflect on
my professional practice and dispositions to improve and
strengthen my ability to effectively model and facilitate
technology-enhanced learning experiences. I consistently
evaluated and reflected on my professional practice by
documenting how I used the material and strategies learned in
the courses in my classes and how I made adjustments to my
teaching after each course was completed. In each blog reflection
I used specific examples of how I modeled and facilitated
technology-enhanced learning experiences in the course and
in my classes to show my understanding and ability to use what I
learned to immediate use to improve teaching and student
learning. One of the biggest areas that I reflected on was how
research and data collection are extremely important in education
and how teachers should consistently participate in the process to
make a positive impact in their schools. That was an area that I
thought was specific to administration and county leaders to
focus on but I know now that all staff should make an effort to
focus on those areas too.

I learned that consistently reflecting on my experiences in each

course and evaluating my performance was important in my
growth as an educator and technology leader. Its important for
educators to continue learning during their career and to spend
time reflecting on their experiences to determine what they took
away from their learning and how they can use their knowledge to
make an immediate impact and in the future for their schools. By
evaluating teachers can understand what they did well and what
they could improve on for the future. By celebrating strengths and
improving weaknesses, teachers can improve their teaching and
help others throughout their career. If I could change one thing I
would allow for reflections to be done at the beginning of each
course, during the mid-term and at the end to combine for one
full reflection that demonstrates the growth of each candidate
and how the course impacted them throughout the semester.
This artifact impacted student learning by students having their
learning experiences improved by all the teaching and technology
strategies I learned throughout each course. I used the strategies
and tools that were taught in each course in my classes which
greatly benefited my teaching ability and student learning. This
impact can be assessed by observing students in my classroom
when they participate using my strategies and tools taught.
Teachers and administrators can assess this impact by
observations of my classes and student feedback.
