Reflection
This curriculum map is based on the implementation of a new P.E. curriculum that is
introduced in a school setting. Participants include each grade level within the school as the
program can be changed based on the needs of the students. The students will engage with the
curriculum throughout the 6 months provided pausing the obstacle course game in order to
understand the importance of holistic wellness. We begin with the importance of physical fitness
for the first month as it is the foundation of the P.E class that students are participating in. Within
this month the class will discuss the importance of physical health as a healthy lifestyle and can
help improve things such as focus within the classroom and stress management. This month we
will also review the importance of safety and include some modifications to the workout plan as
necessary. Each month has the listed objective for the class culminating with a review of all
types of wellness and their importance. Using the P.E curriculum students will be able to engage
in experiential learning as they combine all the information presented and see how it was used
throughout the lessons. For example, as they work together as a team they will engage in critical
thinking to solve problems that arise and begin to understand the importance of intellectuals and
social wellness.
