Education is a fundamental right for all people. All children have the right to a free and
public education. Education is the foundation of any society. It is where the new generations
grow and learn about the world and how to live in it. School is where you gain life skills which
you will use as an adult. Education is a system of constant change, learning and updating
generation to generation so it can evolve with a changing world. The purpose of education is to
pass on the knowledge of previous generations to the next generation. This knowledge is meant
to be added to and modernized to gain higher understanding.
As a teacher I want every student to feel that they have learned things that matter to them.
I want students to receive many different types of education tailored specifically for them. My
lesson planning cannot be the same every year. It needs to evolve year to year to match the
specific challenges of every class. As a teacher I also need to evolve in my thinking to
accommodate new teachings and new ideas. It would be unfair to my students to teach the same
curriculum every year without and changes.
As a teacher I must learn from my students as well as my students being able to learn
from me. To think that there is nothing my students can teach me would be arrogant and
unproductive to the classroom environment. I need to approach everyday as if I am learning
something new. I also need to recognize the importance of my job. Teaching is one of the most
important professions there are with a great responsibility to educate a new generation. I can

never treat it like any other job where I am just working for a paycheck. It is an honor and a
privilege to be a teacher and it I ever forget this I am failing my students,
My students will learn more than just addition and multiplication in my classes. I will
help to educate my students with many important lessons that are needed to live in the modern
world. I will teach my students values such as morality, compassion, humility, and un-biased
thinking. After taking my class students will be more informed citizens of the planet. To go along
with these different teaching ideas, my classroom will also not look like a traditional classroom.
It will go beyond four walls and a chalkboard. My classroom will be set up in a way that boosts
genuine learning and not just the best way to relay information, but also the best way for students
to learn. This will include many different excursions outside of the classroom, along with regular
brain breaks to boost creativity.
My classroom will be a place where boredom does not exist. It will be set up around the
children and its structure will be one that evolves to meet the students specific needs as they
arise. Classroom lessons will not solely be taught in a lecture style but instead in a number of
different ways. Students will regularly work in groups and in partners as well as giving certain
presentations. Students will learn the best way they are capable of as an individual. Learning
does not happen in one uniform way and so I will not teach in that manner. I will abandon the
18th century factory model of education which diminishes creativity and negatively affect
students and their ability to learn.
As a teacher I will take on many different roles for the students rather than the past model
of a teacher being more of an authoritarian deliverer of information. I will be a coach, role
model, and an educator among other things. As a teacher I will treat every student differently as
assess their needs so that they will get the best possible education rather than teaching one thing

in a universal format. Students are always encouraged to speak in class and are definitely
allowed to question my teaching method and ask questions about what is being taught. If they
dont understand something about what I am saying or how I am delivering a lesson they have
every right to give me their feedback. I am adaptable. If a student has an idea about what might
work better I will listen to that student and consider what he or she is saying. My classroom will
be a democracy rather than a dictatorship where the students have the same amount of say as the
teacher, within reason.
School is a collaborative experience not only in the classroom but also in the staff room.
All staff members in the school should be able to work together to create a welcoming and
successful school with a uniform set of goals. Staff members are able to learn and grow through
collaboration. Everyone in the staff has their own perspectives and experiences that they bring to
the table. Combining all this will enhance the teaching experience and help to create a more
productive school. Together the staff should create resources that they are able to share with
each other. Staff should form a network of support that helps new teachers and builds upon the
skills of more experienced ones.
A school is the center of the community where it is located. These buildings are important
parts of the everyday life of the community as so teachers in that school should do their part as
well. Teachers should be active members of their communities outside of school as well as inside
of it. Teachers support their communities by participating in various activities outside of the class
as well as allowing the community to have a place inside of the classroom itself. With this
connection between the school and the community the teacher will have an easier time
connecting with the students and the people who use the school. It is the teachers responsibility

to understand the community that they are placed in and then pass that knowledge along to their
students.
Parents and guardians also play an important part in the classroom. As I have already said
education is not something that only happens within the four walls of the classroom. Parents play
an important part in this ideology. They help to connect home life with the classroom. I believe
in regular meetings with parents to keep them informed and up to date with what is happening in
the classroom on a day to day basis. I also will have meetings with all parents in the beginning of
the year to tell them my plan for the year and to inform them of my perspective on teaching. At
this time it is important to get feedback from parents and guardians and take that feedback into
account. Beyond this some form of daily communication needs to take place between teacher
and parent through a journal.
Technology plays and important part in my idea of what a classroom is. It is integrated
into the classroom in many different forms. Firstly the course has an online component that
corresponds to what is happening in the classroom. This is not mandatory for all grades but some
exploration of the daily course on an online medium is very important to promote learning.
Secondly the physical classroom will be include technologies such as smart board, IPad, and
computers which are all there to aide in learning and not to be a distraction from it. The programs
that are used on these devices as just as important and I will draw from the great wealth of online
education material to determine what is best for my students. All of these modernizations serve
practical purposes. They are not a gimmick and are there for educational purposes. This
integrated classroom relies primarily on balance in order to maintain the best environment
possible for learning.

Physical activity is a very important part of my vison as a teacher and daily exercise in
important to incorporate into the schedule of the day. This is important to take place early in the
morning before class starts to best get the students warmed up for the day ahead. Along with this
cornerstone of physical activity, literacy should also be incorporated in many different ways
throughout the school day. It is important to incorporate as many different subjects as possible to
promote a rounded educational experience. Along with this music should be partially used
throughout the day to provide a different way of instructing and make the lessons more engaging.
Above all in these subjects adaptation is vital to making sure that the subjects taught are working
and that the students are learning. The classroom also needs a system in place that rewards good
behavior and identifies behavior that can be improved upon so that the students can learn values
outside of the regular subjects that will prepare them for the world at large. These are my
thoughts on education and teaching.
