This article from The Conversation, talks about stereotypical sports logos like for
example the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Blackhawks and Florida State Seminoles,
which create and perpetuate stereotypes against Native people. And also describes
about others who have argued that these mascots are harmless, that they symbolize
reverence and respect, while honoring the history of Native Americans. This article
also talks about the controversy it has created like boycotts, protest, and lawsuits. It
also mansions a survey that has been conducted and talks about 90 percent of the
Native Americans polled werent offended by the Redskins name.

Yohana talks about some of the most offensive mascots in the US that depict the
American Indian culture. Some of this offensive mascots are found in baseball,
football, hockey and even rugby, which Yohana believes they leave some
psychological effects in some people by giving the wrong impression to people
especially kids, about Native Americans. Yohana lists nine teams by giving a brief
information about the teams name and logo, and also informs us about the
controversy each has created.

within the people. It talks about events that have happened in effort to change some

some examples of offensive sports logos history about its name and what has been

In the article Aaron talks about a court case that happened on a Wednesday in
effort to remove the trademark an American Football team has, known as the
Washington Redskins. The court case ruled that the franchise/ the Washington
Redskins have the right to keep their logo and name. Aaron also talks about other
examples of stereotypical names and logs from teams and products like food.

changed to something more appropriate. It also talks about what the teams have
done to their logo in effort to decrease the amount of critics.
