Mrs. Carolyn Jensen
Human Resource Director
Monsanto Company
800 N. Lindbergh Blvd.

Dear Mrs. Jensen:
I am applying for a job as a Field Research Associate in Redwood Falls, MN. I
found your job posting on your website and I was excited to apply for the
position. My previous experience in research and working with crops is what
initially interested me in this job.
I graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Crop and Weed Sciences with a specialization in Agronomy.
Throughout my time at NDSU I was involved with research at NDSUs Plant
Pathology Department. My responsibilities included planting, maintaining, and
harvesting plots, gathering statistical data, growing disease to be used on
plants, and inputting data into computer programs. These tasks taught me
many standard practices involved with research like experimental design, basic
statistical analysis and testing methodologies. I have also had experiences
working with field equipment. I grew up on a farm where I worked with farm
machinery quite often. This allowed me to learn the basics of crop production.
I also learned skills in maintaining and repairing the machinery. I built upon
this knowledge when I worked as a construction worker. There I became
familiar with fixing small engines and working with a variety of tools.
I would use my skills and experiences to contribute to Monsantos remarkable
reputation. I want to be a part of Monsantos movement to make our world
sustainable for the rapidly increasing need of food. I want to contribute to their
research and I hope that I have proved I am very qualified for a job as a Field
Research Associate. My resume is enclosed and I look forward to talking with
you more. Please contact me at (605) 867-5309 or bryan.hansen@ndsu.edu.
Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Bryan Hansen
