Step 1 (Specify the null hypotheses or alternate hypotheses)

The data which we took is a result of a pH value of concrete type G60
immersed in
water at a specified age.
Mean1= 12.223 , mean2= 12.247 , mean3= 12.267 , mean4= 12.273
This is an alternative hypotheses since the mean form each group are not
the same.
Step 2 (What level of significance)
=0.05 (Default)
Step 3(Which test)
We are using independent samples ANOVA to test our hypotheses. This is
because the
ANOVA helps us to :
i) Fast access to basic function of statistics such as to find F
Distribution.
ii) Wide variety of charts in SPSS.
One factor ANOVA

Step 4 (State the decision rule)

k=4 , N=12
df = k -1

df = N - k

4 - 1= 3

12 - 4 = 8

Reject H0 if F(3,8) > 4.066

or

Reject H0 if the p-value <0.05

Step 6
-Reject the null hypotheses since the calculated F is 45.583 which is > 4.066
-Critical value p-value is less than 0.05.
Step 7
Interpretation, F-ratio tells us that the pH values of concrete type G60 is
more different than we would expect.

Conclusion
This is an alternative hypotheses since the means from the groups are not
the same. Reject null hypotheses calculated is 45.583 which is more than the
f-Distribution that is 4.066. Where the critical value of p-value is less than
0.05. We choose this data because it is related to our course which is civil
engineering.
