Emergency Reservoirs
Some air brake systems use
emergency reservoirs.
These are provided on
each car like the auxiliary reservoir and are
recharged from the brake pipe in a similar way.
However, they are only used in an emergency,
usually being triggered by the triple valve sensing
a sudden drop in brake pipe pressure.
