Students from Philippine Law School in Pasay City conducted free legal
assistance and counselling activity in partnership with Public Attorneys
Office (PAO) in Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City last May 24, 2016.
They organized and carried out their activity in Taguig City Jail-Male
Dormitory under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in
coordination and cooperation with the Jails Inmates Welfare and
Development (IWD) Section.
The said activity provided an opportunity for the students to observe and to
be engaged in the customary practice of lawyers in handling actual cases.
Atty. Kimberly D. Foster, Public Attorney in Taguig City, supervised the
students in assisting and counselling the inmates.
As part of their learning experience, the students were allowed to make
pleadings such as counter-affidavits, judicial affidavits, motion to reduce bail
and motion to remand with the supervision of their supervising lawyer.
