REVIEW OF LECTURE ON MOODLE DELIVERED BY PROF. K.

SREENIVAS

The lecture on Moodle comprising Design, Access and Transact


Online Course with Moodle Platform was given by Prof. K. Sreenivas, in
the morning session on 3rd sept. 2015. It was very interactive,
informative and interesting session, which enabled us to learn
about online teaching and learning system.

He explained that moodle facilitates online collaborations, which can
be teacher-to-student, teacher-to-teacher or student-to-student and is
designed in particular to support constructive pedagogy, which
includes the elements of:

Collaboration
Content Hosting
Interaction and
Assessments and allows us to extend and tailor learning
environments.

For setting up Moodle, we need to have some key ingredients in our


institution, which comprises of free open source, personal desktop or
laptop, Networked computer-Shared access within campus, public
domain- public access on/off campus, 32-64GB ram, 3-5TB hard disk
and training for the people.
We had done hands-on in the practice session and learnt various
features like how to design course structure, how to introduce video
from youtube , various options of enrolling students- manual and auto
option. We have registered ourselves on the moodle site and tried to
developed course structure. It was indeed a very informative and
learned session.
