My Meaningful Life Essay
Living a life with no regrets and filled with love is what I want. I want a future where I
can look back on my death bed and be proud of who I became. Those goals are only achievable
if I figure out what makes me happy, pursuing it, being around people who love and support me,
find meaning in my life, to set goals, and most importantly achieve them. I often find myself
dreaming and wondering what God has in stored for me and why he put me on this earth. Right
now as a growing adult I am constantly thinking, Am I on the right path to a bright future?. I
believe the choices I am making today will affect my life in someway in the future. When I close
my eyes I see roads that lead to different life scenarios. My life decisions are all up to me on
what I truly want because it is my life, not my parents, not my boyfriends, and not my friends.
I look around and I have options and no matter where I get advice, it boils down to me and my
wants, my needs, and my happiness.
What makes my life meaningful? Questioning your meaning in life is one of the biggest
wonders as a human being. To me, a meaningful life is filled with love, positivity, forgiveness,
doing the best you can do and achieving goals. I do not want to waste my life on people or
situations that will make me feel miserable or depressed. I do not believe I have a heart that has
the ability hate so I plan to spread love and make sure everyone who steps into my life is doing
well and being care for too. With all of that, I believe in Christianity, God and faith also gives me
meaning in a life filled with meaningless actions.

Ever since I was a little kid, I knew I wanted to do a job that requires physical and
mental strength. Right now, the plan I want to pursue is getting my firefighting license, and be a
volunteer fireman during my summer years in college, join the Air Force after college, and
eventually when I want a family it will fall into place and I can retire from the military and
become a National Park Ranger. I believe women can do strong jobs and serving my country and
Gods natural environment is a lifelong dream of mine.
Living a life of values is one of the aspects that helps makes my life meaningful. My top
two values that I feel creates a backbone for other values are, positivity and excellence. When I
was younger I was a negative person and strongly did not like that aspect of me. Now, I try to
live a positive life and see the positive in each situation. Having a positive outlook on my
existence created a better basis for my life. Also, striving to be excellent can make your positive
life have meaning. I am a perfectionist and I am proud because living a life of settling is not what
I want. Living life to the fullest is something I strive for, I want to be proud of myself and have
no regrets when I am on my death bed. I want a life where others can follow my example or at
least appreciate the things I have done. These values are motivation to find the calling God is
reaching me out to do.
When I think about the strengths I hold, they mostly contain Love, spirituality, and
appreciation. I am most known for being kind, loving, and tenderhearted, these traits mainly
come from my close relationship I share with God and my faith in Christianity. Ever since my
sophomore year in high school I started to become more spiritual, religious, and developed a
stronger faith in Christianity and God. I hold my family and my significant other close to my
heart and my love and appreciation for them grow more everyday. I have so much love I even
think about the actions I do now may affect the husband and children I may have in the future. I

always want to figure out what I can do more to make my close relationships better, more
connected, more understanding, and how I can show them unconditional love and care. With
addition to my family I also think about other people. People I am acquaintances with and total
strangers. I think about them often because I want to do a career where I put others before
myself. I am a person who forgives quickly to enemies and loved ones, I also think about nature
and Gods natural artistic creations he put there, noticeable or not. I appreciate the little things
and am an avid observer. I can see how my strengths influence me on how I want to spend the
rest of my life. I want a family oriented life with a career where I put others before my own,
serve God, and eventually full time study the environment. I have been truly blessed by the
spirituality and connections with the Lord. The Lord has given me guidance throughout my life
and shown me hints and ideas of the calling he wants me to take in my future. If he was not part
of my life I do not think I would be the same person I am today.
Finding meaning for my future can only happen a day at a time. Happiness is not
generally found in contemplating past or future. People who thought more about the present were
happier but people who spent more time thinking about the future or past struggles and suffering
felt more meaning in their lives, though were less happy. by Viktor Frankl. The quote has
recently impacted me on how I think. I can learn from my mistakes and look back at the
struggles in my past, which suck, but I can also take that in and live what is happening in the
now and make it the best I can. My past determines my present, my present determines my
future. My life is meaningful in some way and God has a higher plan for me tomorrow than what
he had today or yesterday. Just taking life a day at a time and soul searching will help me figure
out what exactly.
