defeat of Napoleon and Congress of Vienna

Student will be able to analyze the beginning of the fall of Napoleon and the balance of power in Europe
after his fall.

Why would Napoleon invade Russia?


Why do you think Napoleon retreat from Russia? What was one of Russias biggest advantage?
Explain the invasion of Russia
Explain the battle of Leipzigs important
Why did Napoleons Marshals betrayed him and what did they make him do?
What really defeated Napoleons army in Russia?
What is a limited monarchy?
Why would the Congress of Vienna maintain balance of power in Europe?
Why wouldnt France be treated more harshly?

Student will be able to identify concepts from past learning such as what a limited monarchy is.
Student will need to be able to identify the constant fighting do to the Napoleonic wars to understand the
reasoning for the outcome of the Congress of Vienna.
Students will need to understand the strengths of Russia mostly associated with the weather.
These objective are relevant to students because this sets up the powers of Europe going forward causing
the domino effects to future events leading to today. (ie, Unification of Germany, World War I, World War II,
Cold War, US Russian relationship today.

The opening will be bell work the question asked with go over some of the key idea from
the previous days lesson to allow for understand on how that relates to what they are
learning.
Additionally the objective will be imbedded into the PowerPoint which will be shown to
the students after bell work in completed. Additionally, the objective will be on the board
at the front of the room.
The entire lesson will be written out on the board going over each step of the lesson so
that students can keep track of what is being covered and when.
Lastly ill make the connects during the lesson on how these events effects how the world
will be going forward and what effects those have today.

Guided Practice

The accommodations/modification that student will have include extra time on any
assignment that is given,
Students will be able to work with other in groups to read and as question that they
may not understand.
For those that struggle with writing notes Laptops are available for note taking and
research as needed.

War and the Congress of Vienna making the connection to set up the unification of Germany
that will lead to WWI.
