topic that we will be discussing.

1. Gentlemen go to the left side of the room
while the ladies go to the right side of the
room.
2. Talk as a group and construct your
arguments regarding the topic I will be
posting.
3. The topic will be Who is more
important, ladies or gentlemen?.
4. Ladies will prove that ladies are more
important while the gentlemen will have
the other side.
5. You have 5 mins to talk about your
arguments.
6. Anybody can throw arguments but wait
for the recognition of the teacher before
you answer.

(After 5 mins.) Let us start the debate and I will
be acting as your moderator for this debate. Let
us have paper, scissors, rock to determine
which group will start. Representative please

Sarah: Ladies is more important that gentlemen
because we, ladies, are now capable of doing
what boys can do. Which is, this is an
implication that we are improving and we are
more important to the society.
Jim: Gentlemen are more important that ladies.

Look at most of our leaders now. Not just in our
country but in the whole world also. Men are
more important because we are more capable of
being a leader and pillar of the society.

Lara: No! Girls are more important than men


because those leaders that you boys are talking
about will not exist without their mothers. So in
this sense we are needed by the society.
Januel: I think your argument ladies will be
nonsense if I say this to you. You ladies will
never have a baby if we, men will not exist.
Therefore we are more important than you.
Jezza: I think in that sense, you are just saying
that you really need us, ladies for you to be
productive. Therefore we are more important
than you.
Charlie: In that sense, let me tell you ladies that
in the story of creation we are created first by
God. Therefore even in Gods mind, we are
more important and we are the first choice. You
ladies are just the second choice.
Ella: With that argument we are proud as ladies
that we are created from you because God sees
that you need us for you to survive. Therefore
we are more important that you.
Boys: No!
Girls: No!
Ok. Enough. Let us settle down. We had had Learners: We are more important.

Now let us first have the Biblical foundation of Gwen: A reading from the book of Genesis.
this Christian View on sexuality. (Genesis 1: 26- God said let us make a man in our own image
31). Someone please read the Biblical text using
your Bible. Yes, Gwen.
Part of your debate a while ago is the creation of
God of male and female. From this lets try to
decode the meaning of this Biblical text in
relation to the Christian View of Sexuality. Is
this really connected to sexuality?
There are so many notion of sexuality and most
of the time we make a misconception of this.
Nowadays we see hear and see sexuality as
solely sexual act. This notion is very limited if
we will see the real essence of sexuality in the
view of Christianity.
The teacher will discuss the following:
Sexuality - is an expression of our being
persons, of our being man or woman,
conditioning or affecting the way we feel,
communicate, express and live human love.
Qualities of sexuality
1. Equality and Uniqueness can be found
from the book of Genesis where we
learn that man and woman are the
same because both are created in
Gods image, thus, both are gifted with
dignity.
2. Complimentarity means that both man
and woman are given the same
responsibility to subdue the earth.
3. Reciprocity means that man and
woman are called to from a
relationship characterized by mutual
self-giving. Sexuality moves us to form
a give-and-take relationship.
4. Sexuality is for love. It is within the
context of a loving relationship that a
man and a woman can fully realize
what they are capable of becoming.

Ramil: Sir, what has this sexuality something to


do with the 6th and 9th commandment?

This is the true essence of our sexuality. That
our being human is also our sexuality. We are
created by God and part of that creation is our
sexuality. Now, we as humans, we are weak
because of temptations and sins therefore we
tend to violate the gift of sexuality. For instance,
we abuse our own sexuality, like the act of
masturbation, rape and other sexual abuses.
With these realities, we have to be reminded that
we have these 6th and 9th commandment that are
ground of our sexual morality. Through this
commandment, we are being reminded to
counteract this sexual immorality.
e. Synthesis The gift of sexuality in the Christian view comes from God as he created
man and woman in His image and it should be respected and protected through
responding to our role as men and women.
Synthesis
To sum up what we have discussed a while ago, we are facing now difficult challenges of
wrong notion of sexuality. Many teenagers nowadays take sexuality as just means to provide self
satisfaction but this should not be. You as the new generation, are being invited to take an action
towards respecting and protecting sexuality.

status will be an advocacy for the protection and respect of sexuality.
