Procedure #1

Returning Homework
Procedure: I expect students to do their best on their homework.
1. I expect homework to be neat.
2. Once you get in my classroom, you must be prepared to submit the
homework.
3. As soon as the bell rings you will need to be seated and ready to pass
forward and I will collect them at the first desk in the line, this should not
take more than 5 10 minutes as the class period is only 50 minutes and
there will be important material to cover each day.
4. I expect students to do the work on their own and ask for help only after
they have given their best effort.
5. I expect all assignments will be turned in on time.
6. If students do not complete homework: 1 day late= -15 points. No papers will
be accepted after 2 days.
Rational: I believe homework is important because it helps students make the most
of their learning experience in school. I give homework to prepare students for
upcoming lessons, to reinforce what has been learned in class, to teach
responsibility and organizational skills and to develop positive study habits.
Explanation/Model: Demonstrate how I want the students to turn in their
homework.
Checking for understanding: Ask a few students to demonstrate how I want them
to turn in their homework.
Rehearse: Ask all students to practice how to turn in their homework, by passing
the homework forward and then I will collect all homework from the first desk of
each line.
Reinforce: Ask once again to a few students the steps to turn in their homework.

Procedure #2
Entering the Classroom
Procedure and Explanation:
1.

If homework is assigned it is to be placed in a box, in front of the classroom

2.
3.
4.
5.

first thing in the morning.

Check the board for objectives and bell work.
Get out the necessary materials for the day.
Be watching for the signal that we will be beginning as a group.
Tardiness-you are tardy if you are outside of the door when the bell rings.
When you are tardy quietly enter the classroom and sign in leaving your late
pass in the late pass basket. Take your seat and if you are not certain of
what we are doing as a class, quietly ask the person next to you. For every
tardy you will lose one of your three bath room passes each month. After
three tardiness, you will be given an afterschool detention to be served on
Tuesday or Thursday, if you reach the 4th tardy this will serve for a write up
to administration.

Rationale: I believe that by giving this procedure the teacher expects from the
students to exhibit a positive behavior always. Also, help to keep the properly
function as an educational learning community.

Explanation/Model: Show the students the steps on how I want them to enter my
classroom an all the classrooms as well.
Checking for understanding: Ask a few students to demonstrate how I want them
to enter the classroom every day.

Rehearse: Ask all the students to practice how to enter the classroom in a
properly manner by line up all the students in the hallway and let them understand
and perform all the steps in the procedure.

Reinforce: Ask once again to a few students the steps in the procedure to verify
if they understand and perform the correct procedure.

Procedure # 3
Leaving the classroom
1st. Grade
Procedure and Explanation:
1.

Do not leave the classroom at the end of the day until dismissed by the
teacher.
2. Under no circumstances should the students be gathered at the door to
leave. All students should be in their seats until dismissed.
3. Gather all materials and check for trash around your seat. Please throw
away all trash.
4. Leave quietly.
Rationale: While I reinforce the procedure of leaving the Class room in a properly
manner, it helps the students in their behavior in a positive way, and at the same
time we teach the importance of organization and how to follow instructions.

Checking for understanding: Ask a few students to demonstrate how we are to

leave the class room in a properly way.

Rehearse: ask all students to practice how I want them to leave the class room
following the established process.

Reinforce: Ask once again to a few students the steps to how leave the class room
in a properly way.
