Summary:
Chapter 10 focuses on classroom discipline, which is an incredibly important topic to cover
when developing ones classroom management style. The main goal related to this chapter is
to keep students engaged and on task while in class. Burden & Byrd give many suggestions
to deal with various issues that may arise for teachers. After thinking of ideas for my own
classroom management plan, I was surprised while reading the chapter that requiring some
form of writing is not recommended. I understand the reason behind that, but I wonder if there
may be exceptions to that idea.
