EVERYONE COMMITTED TO THE SUCCESS OF ALL STUDENTS

November 22, 2016

Dear XXXXXXXX:
We have had numerous conversations over the past several months and this letter serves as formal
documentation of the concerns that we have discussed. In our past direct conversations and via e-mail
communication on September 14, 2016, I gave you the following directives:

You are expected to attend all Faculty meetings, which includes Faculty Professional Development
Meetings, and all other meetings called/scheduled for the faculty. You are to remain at these meetings until
the meeting is complete.

On a regular instructional workday, you are also not to depart campus until the designated time of 3:20 PM.
If you need to leave before the designated work departure time, you will need to gain permission from me
prior to leaving before the work departure time.
You are expected to be present at all XXXXXXX PLC meetings at the designated time with your PLC. You
are to collaborate, share instructional strategies, develop lesson plans, and anything else needed in order to
enhance student academic achievement with your PLC.

Over the past few days, specifically on 11/14/16, 11/15/16, 11/17/16, 11/18/16, Ive noted that you have been
departing campus before the designated time of 3:20 PM. It is essential that we improve the culture at Central
Middle School and that begins by ensuring an equitable set of standards for all staff members. Allowing you to
leave every afternoon prior to everyone else creates division amongst the staff, and has to be avoided. I also
realize that you are trying to juggle the responsibilities of a coach and a teacher, but we have to find a way to
resolve this issue.
Refusal to comply with the above directives may result in further disciplinary action up to and including
recommendation for dismissal. This letter shall be placed in the Whiteville City Schools personnel file within
five days of receipt of this letter.
