B. Purpose & scope of the project:

The idea of our project helping and guiding all our university
students in order to
Chose what courses to take and what courses are available for
them according to
What they have already finished. (Mostly new students)
For old students, the program will advise students to repeat
courses or avoid certain courses according to their GPA in order to
improve it.
The program will also show the students their study plan
according to their Major,
And also advise them to declare or join a specific Major taking in
consideration their marks in some specific subjects.
Students may also check the payments and fees they need to pay
for each semester
In an easy fast way, it will save them a lot of time going to the
university and ask the Financial Department in the administration
building (how much should I pay this semester?

C. Problem definition:
We seek in our project is that we put an end to the issues that
students usually get through the year of learning. Therefore, we
will be able to define the problems by clarifying every single step
that the student approaches. Giving the higher chances for the

freshmen. It known that each university deals with their own kind
of system that the student faces are work with. By that, we tried
to gather some useful information from all types of students going
through freshmen till senior just to examine what ideas do they
have in mind that will encourage them to like our concept and
willing to use it for further purposes.
starting with some feedbacks that were mostly recommended by
the students:
1. First of all, freshmen have always faced a problem in which
they have no idea how to get things done easily. Focusing on
how will he start up his foundation year and what courses he
should start with.
2. 2nd most important thing that our student always focusses on
having a high GPA. However, they face the problem in which
they dont know what courses should they take to be able to
maximize their chances on having good marks and avoid the
chances of failing courses or going through probation.
3. What keeps new students wondering is what major should I
go for? Which will put them in some kind of pressure to take
things that they might not like in the selected major. In other
words, they wont be able to define their decision through
their foundation year.
4. Every student has acknowledged that the most frustrating
moment through their years was the financial process. In
which they had to go to the financial department and wait
their turn by spending a lot of time among the crowd.

D. Business case/Feasibility study (technical,

economical, and operational)

According to our feasibility study, we have surely made that our

project is divided into three major things which are listed in this
step.
Technical:
In this step, everything will be built through using Microsoft Visual
Basic which have been based to our studies in MIS. Showing the
details and services that should be applied to the chosen project
that will consist of:
1- System analysis (Mainly use cases created through StarUML)
2- Programming codes & Statements (Visual Basic 2010)
3- Fully Designed GUI (Visual Basic 2010)
Economical:
This step will determine the benefits of the project system
that we will provide. It also identifies all the benefits added
in it. We will be focusing on enhancing the program to be
user friendly and willing to make it compressed enough to
work smoothly without consuming a lot of hardware power.
Making sure that it will be executable in most of the used
Windows systems through this time.
This project wont benefit any payments or costs for the
users. as it will be free to use whenever they desire.
Operational:
Through listing the problem definitions in page (3), we will
operate our project by gathering that information and apply
them by converting it into advantages for the users.
Focusing on fulfilling the student needs and desires.
Sustainability and maintainability will be listed as first
priorities in the underdevelopment program.
