Word Update 934173
Office 2007 Service Pack 1 - Changes

Description

When you try to use Data Access Object (DAO) code to synchronize a replicated Access
2007 database, you receive the following error message:
Run-time error '3251':
Operation is not supported for this type of object.

When you use a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro in Access 2007 to
update records in a Microsoft Jet 3.x database, you receive the following runtime error
message:
Run-time error '3001':
Invalid argument

In Access 2007, you open a Microsoft Office Access 2003 database that contains a custom
shortcut menu for a subform. Then, you right-click the subform. When you do this, the
default shortcut menu is displayed instead of the custom shortcut menu

When you try to run a Microsoft Access project (.adp) in Access 2007, the project may
run slowly. Or, the project may take longer than expected to respond to actions that are
performed on the project

You close or compact and then close an Access 2007 database. Then, you reopen the
database. After you do this, you cannot use some menus or some menu items.

When you click the Add New Field column in the main datasheet, Access 2007 does not
take focus out of its subdatasheet. Therefore, the data type of the most recently focused
column in the subdatasheet is changed when you try to add a new column to the main
datasheet by using the Data Type drop-down box.

When you use the Label Wizard in Access 2007, you receive a security prompt. If you click
OK on the security prompt, you receive an error message. If you click Yes on the error
message, you are returned to the Label Wizard. When you try to finish the wizard again,
you may receive another error message.
In Access 2007, you receive the following error message when you try to execute a query
that contains parameters:
Access 2007 returns only the first page of records from a User Information table. The first
page of records contains no more than 2,000 records.

In Access 2007, the page controls for the transparent tab are not transparent. This issue
occurs on any Microsoft operating system, such as Windows Vista or Windows XP, that
has themes turned on and enabled by default.
You install Access 2007 and Microsoft Office Access 2003 on the same computer. When
you run Access 2007 after you run Access 2003, Access 2007 takes several minutes to
repair itself.

After you run an update query that sets an AutoNumber field to Null in Access 2007, and
then you compact the database, you can still update the AutoNumber field data. This
issue may result in the loss of data. After you compact the database, the
MSysCompactError table is created. This change should remove the ability to update
AutoNumber fields.

When you open a form that is bound to a Microsoft Office SharePoint table, it is possible
to add data to the form. However, when the form is closed, the data is lost. This behavior
does not allow you to add data to a form in a read-only database in Access 2007. The
form is bound to a SharePoint table.

When you open a custom shortcut menu bar in a form in Access 2007, the shortcut menu
is missing. Additionally, you may receive an error message that says that the shortcut
menu does not exist when you open the database again.

When you import Outlook contacts into Access 2007, unexpected characters may appear
on the Mail Merge Recipients dialog box
This problem occurs when the Outlook contacts contain some Romanian characters.

Fields that are bound to time-intensive expressions appear blank in Access 2007. These
fields are empty until you click the textbox or until you click anything outside of Access
2007 if the following conditions are true:

• The Control Source property of a textbox uses the DLookup() function.

• The query that is called by the DLookup() fuction references a control on a form.

Text fields are detected as memo fields when you paste some text fields from Microsoft
Office Excel to Access 2007. When Access 2007 detects columns that have fewer than
255 characters, "fields of type" text is created.
This issue also occurs in any language version of Access 2007 that has the Bulgarian
regional setting enabled.

When you programmatically select an item in a List box on a form, the selected item does
not become visible if it was not visible before you selected it in Access 2007.
In Access 2007, the click event for an image control does not work when the image
control is inside a tab control.

You cannot use the OpenRecordset function to open some DAO database objects
through Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connections in Access 2007
The behaviors of the StopAllMacros macro action and the StopMacro macro action are
swapped in Access 2007.
You create a macro that uses the DoCmd.SelectObject method to select an object in the
database by name. If you specify the name of an object that does not exist in the
database, you do not receive an error message. Additionally, nothing happens.

When you try to import a large .CSV file, such as a file that is larger than 30 megabytes
(MB),, Access 2007 appears to stop responding at the import dialog box. After a few
moments, you may receive the following error message:

"File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry Entry"

When you click OK to close the error message, you can usually finish the import process.
All records are imported successfully.
When you import data from an Excel spread sheet into Access 2007 by using the long
integer data type, the number 1 is incorrectly added to some numbers.
In Access2007, the modified date that is displayed in the Navigation Pane for all objects,
except tables and queries, is never updated.
When you try to convert an .accdb file to an .mdb file, nothing happens. No error
message appears.

When you change the Enabled property of a checkbox on a form by running a macro that
uses the SetValue action, you may receive the following message when the sandbox is
enabled:

Access failed to evaluate one or more expressions because 'Enabled' was referenced in
an expression. Only functions and properties that are considered to be safe are allowed
in expressions when Access runs in sandbox mode.

For more information on sandbox mode, search for "Sandbox mode" in Access Help.
When you open a database in runtime mode, the floating UI for attachment controls and
for formatting in rich-text enabled fields is not displayed correctly.

When you update referenced cells, you update the literal cell address instead of the
referenced cell. This issue occurs when you update Excel data through the ISAM
programatically.

When you try to delete multiple objects by using the delete option on the context menu,
database objects that were not selected may be incorrectly deleted.

You cannot use code that uses the index of the item in a list box to set the selection.
If you send an "update existing data" e-mail message that contains a Yes field and a
Nofield, a system that uses non-English language settings cannot process replies to the
message. This is true if the user does not manually localize the value within the "Yes/No"
field.

Additionally, the "yes" string and the "no" string are not localized when you create an
HTML Data Collection form that contains a boolean field.

When you try to delete a record in a sub-form that is embedded in a main form, the row
is longer displayed. However, the record is actually not deleted. If you press F9 after you
delete a row in the sub-form, you will receive the following error message:

Operation not supported in transactions

When you add an attachment field to a table, you may receive the following error
message:

The Microsoft Office Access database engine could not find the object.
Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly.
This issue occurs when the field has a union query that has more than one union on
tables with complex data.
When you set the data type of a new field to a non-text type, such as Attachment, in the
Datasheet view, Access 2007 may stop responding

When you return to the property sheet after you change the RecordSource property,
Access 2007 may stop responding
The issue can occur after you click Builder in the property sheet to open the QBE.

When you run a Microsoft Visual Basic application that has an Excel 2007 worksheet in a
OLE container control, the worksheet is rendered outside the OLE object boundaries.
When you try to use arrow keys to move the cursor in a text box in Excel 2007, the cursor
moves in the opposite direction.

When you use Microsoft Office Excel 2007 to open a Microsoft Office Excel 2003
spreadsheet, shapes that have a custom color in Excel 2003 have a different color in Excel
2007. The custom color frequently reverts to a default color in Excel 2007.

You save a workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 while in Page Break Preview view.
When you open the workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2003 and then try to change to
Normal view, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Excel

The number must be between 10 and 400. Try again by entering a number in this range.
You create a chart that contains a secondary value (y) axis label in Excel 2007, and then
you save the workbook in one of the following formats: • Excel Workbook (*.xlsx)
• Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls)
When you open the workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2003, the secondary value (y) axis
label is moved to the primary axis of the chart.

When you use the CallByName function and the VBGet Call Type constant to
programmatically return a chart series or another chart object in a Microsoft Visual Basic
for Applications (VBA) macro in Excel 2007, you receive the following error message:
Run-time error '438': Object doesn't support this property or method.

You use the Microsoft Active Accessibility 2.0 Software Development Kit (SDK) Tools to
create a custom solution to programmatically determine the position of the cursor in a
cell. The cell is in an Excel 2007 worksheet or in a Microsoft Graph worksheet. To move
the cursor into the worksheet cell, you use the arrow keys, or you press TAB. When you
do this, the custom solution incorrectly determines that the cursor is at the center of the
cell. This is true if the cell is selected but text has not been typed into the cell.

You have a linked Excel object in a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. If you update the
object in Excel, and then you click the Close button (X) in the upper-right corner of Excel,
the Excel object in the PowerPoint presentation is not updated. However, if you save the
object in Excel before you close Excel, the Excel object is updated as expected in the
PowerPoint presentation.

When you open a workbook that contains calculations in Excel 2007, the workbook may
stop responding (hang). Excel 2007 may stop responding on each calculation in the
workbook.

Note If you open the workbook in an earlier version of Microsoft Excel, the calculations
complete successfully in a few seconds as expected.

You experience slow performance in Excel 2007. This issue occurs if the following
conditions are true: • A chart contains lots of data points.
• The value (y) axis is fixed.
You experience slow performance in Excel 2007. This issue occurs if the following
conditions are true: • A chart contains lots of data points.
• The value (y) axis is fixed.

When you open a workbook that contains a chart that includes a polynomial trendline,
parts of the formula that are higher than the third-order are missing.

When you format a series in an area chart that has a border, part of the border may be
missing.
You reposition data labels in a chart in Excel 2007. Then, you save the workbook in the
Excel 97-2003 Workbook (*.xls) file format. If you close the workbook and then reopen
the workbook, the data labels in the chart are moved to a different position. Or, the data
labels are missing.

When you open a workbook that contains a chart that has axis labels in Excel 2007, the
axis labels may be truncated or missing.

In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, graphics do not appear in .mht files that are created by
using Cognos Impromptu. For example, images, graphs, and charts do not appear as
expected in an Excel 2007 workbook.

In Microsoft Office Excel 2007, the major scale axis units, the minor scale axis units, and
the maximum scale axis units adjust at different chart heights than in Microsoft Office
Excel 2003. Therefore, charts may not have a uniform appearance when you convert an
Excel 2003 chart to Excel 2007.

You use the Microsoft Excel 4.0 Get.Chart.Item macro function to retrieve the position of
series data points in an Excel chart. When you run the macro function in Excel 2007,
incorrect chart point data is retrieved.

When you open an Excel workbook in Excel 2007 by using a hyperlink that contains a
query string as part of the URL, you may experience one of the following symptoms: •
You are incorrectly prompted that the workbook that you are trying to open is in a
different format than the file name extension specifies.
• You are not prompted that the workbook that you are trying to open is in a different
format than the file name extension in the query string specifies.

You open an Excel 2007 chart that is embedded in an Office document such as a
Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. You change the zoom level of the Excel chart to less
than 100 percent, and then you close the Excel chart and return to the Office document.
When you open the embedded Excel chart again, the position of the chart area may have
moved.

This problem may also occur if you change the zoom level of the Excel chart to less than
100 percent, and then you save the Office document in a Microsoft Office 2003 program.
When you open the embedded Excel chart in a 2007 Microsoft Office program, the
position of the chart area may have moved.

You open a workbook that contains a chart that has labels on the vertical axis. If you save
the workbook in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and then reopen the workbook, the labels
on the vertical axis of the chart may wrap. This may cause the chart to appear incorrect.
Chart does not adjust references in Excel 2007

You create a multi-axis chart in Excel 2003. When you load the chart into Excel 2007, a
data series of the corresponding data series will have their z-axis order reversed.
The GetChartElement method in Excel 2007 returns information about the chart element
at specified X and Y coordinates. However, this method cannot correctly recognize the
values of the xlXErrorBars element and the xlYErrorBars element.

When you paste to a PivotTable by using Match Destination Formatting with conditional
formatting, the conditional formatting is lost because Excel 2007 does not know to which
PivotTable to apply the formatting.

You create a default 2D column chart in Excel 2007. Then, you add a bevel effect to one
of the data series. When you print or print preview the chart and select the Print in Black
and White option, the fill effect is lost.

You have an Excel 2007 file which calls Excel 2007 to run an XLM macro. If the XLM macro
contains at least one formula that pushes more operation onto the stack than the
number of arguments to the macro, Excel 2007 may crash.
In Excel 2007, the position of data labels in a pie chart may change after you save it in an
earlier format of Excel and then reopen it in Excel 2007.

You have a series on both the primary axis and the secondary axis of a chart in Excel.
Then, you delete all series by starting from the primary axis. Then, you add more series.
However, in Excel 2007, the new series does not resemble the previous primary axis from
Excel 2003.
In Excel 2007, the GetChartElement method returns the value 2 from the x-axis for
scatter type charts. You expect a value of 1 as it would be in Excel 2003
When you change chart type from "Scatter with Straight Lines" to "Scatter with only
Markers" in Excel 2007, invisible series will be created

In Excel 2007, charts cannot load the chart.xml file when the pivot source contaions the
<extLst> XML element
This problem occurs because the pivot source object cannot process the <extLst> XML
element of the chart.xml file.

Conditional Formatting that applies number formats is incorrect for all non en-us
language version of Excel 2007. This problem results in unexpected rendered numbers or
render failure.
When you resize a chart sheet in Excel 2007, the GetChartElement method cannot return
the correct index of the clicked point
In Excel 2007, you have a category label with a comma then a blank space. However, the
label does not wrap on the space.

When a chart is created from the OM at any zoom level other than 100% and then
moved to the worksheet, the chart size will be created based on that zoom level.
This problem when Excel 2007 calls the SeriesCollection.Paste method with no parameter
specified for XlRowCol object.
Data is misrepresented on the chart and the user may mininterpret the data.
Additionally, if you loaded from Excel 2003, no warning is given.

The size of OLE chart changes after you edit the chart in Open mode in Excel 2007
You create a stock chart and then alter the data reference so that it is no longer a valid
stock chart. Then, you save the chart. When you try to reload the chart Excel 2007 cannot
open the chart.
Graph charts may become larger every time that you try to edit it in the Open mode in
Excel 2007
In Office applications, the source posts only the clipboard formats and not the actual
data.
Trendlines are calculated including #N/A cells in Excel 2007
This fix improves the performance of the NORMDIST, NORMSDIST, NORMINV and
NORMSINV functions in Excel 2007.
When the equation transitions to scientific notation, the 6 digit data has a trendline
equation which should be *E+01.
The ApplyCustomType method does not apply the correct subtype in Excel 2007

On Turkish language versions of Windows XP or Windows Vista with all the necessary
updates installed, the Turkish File Format Converter cannot open Excel 2007 files.
Additionally, the option to save as Excel 2007 file is not in the Save As section in Excel
2007.
When you open an XL12FF shared workbook, you apply sorts and try to change data.
However, data is incorrectly overwirtten during synchronization.
When you save an .xlsx workbook after refreshing a PV that contains a TAB character in
Excel 2007, the whole file is corrupted.
The XValues value returned through the Object Model (OM) in Excel 2007 differs from
the value that is returned in Excel 2003
Formulas which are based on data table may not recalculate when the data table is
recalculated in Excel 2007
When you start Excel 2007, the status bar may appear at the top of the application on a
Windows Vista-based computer.

The PathCreateFromUrl function takes a URL of the form "file://c:\temp.htm" or of the

form "file://\\foo\temp.htm" and strips out the "file://" part. Because the protocol is
missing, when you process this URL you cannot perform the hyperlink navigation.
The "Open in Excel" functionality in the 2007 Office system does not work with Office
2003
When you try to open 3D charts which are created in Excel 2007 in Excel 2003 SP3, 3D
charts are corrupted. Additionally, they are lost on repair.
Office Web Component 2003 crashes Internet Explorer if there is no Office Client on the
computer
When you use VBA code in Excel 2007, runtime errors and access violations occur and
then Excel 2007 crashes. This problem does not occur in Excel 2003.
This problem occurs when you insert or activate an embedded Excel object while Excel
2007 has boot time addition installed.

In Windows Server 2008, a user tries to open a workbook containing a chart in the
browser by using Excel Services (EWA). When this occurs, the chart does not render and
is not shown.
When you copy a chart sheet that is grouped with another sheet that contains the data
for the chart, the copied chart sheet points back to the original source sheet.
After executing ActiveChart.Paste, the image that is pasted is placed in the upper-left
corner of the chart, and it is smaller than the original image.
When pasting a range of data into a chart, the category label range is replaced.

In Windows SharePoint Services installations with multiple languages, a single Excel Web
Access filter dialog box may contain strings in multiple languages. SP1 ensures that only
the correct language is shown in this dialog box.

When the underlying data in an Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cube changes,
PivotTables created from that data source could be reported as corrupted by Microsoft
Office Excel 2007. This issue may occur if they contained member properties. These
properties were incorrectly duplicated by the data change. SP1 removes the member
properties from the PivotTable instead of duplicating them.

The C application programming interface (C-API) in Excel 2007 introduced an

incompatibility with previous versions of Excel when calling xlDefineBinaryName. The
problem has been fixed, and this call should now be backwards-compatible.

Excel 2007 included a pre-release version of the Microsoft® SQL Server Analysis Services
Data Provider SP2 (MSOLAP9). Excel 2007 now contains the final-release SP2 version.

In PivotTables that are based on relational data sources, file format corruption no longer
occurs when you group a field and then change the SQL query by adding a field that has
the same name.

In Excel 2007, you use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to set the
ActiveSheet.EnableSelection property to xlUnlockedCells. However, this procedure does
not prevent the selection of cells after closing and reopening the file. This issue occurs
because the property is not correctly saved in the file format. This issue has been
addressed, and the property is now saved.
When calling the Excel file Open dialog box from a macro, the file name argument is no
longer lost when the dialog box appears.
Text boxes are resized or erased when an add-in uses the Get.Document statement to
manipulate page breaks.
Excel 2007 introduced a bug that caused various calls to the Excel Object Model to
produce a beep. This beep code has been removed from the product.

Excel 2007 introduced a bug when creating Calculated Items in PivotTables in which the
Calculated Items included relative references to other items in the PivotTable. The issue
has been addressed.

If a local Excel file and a Web-based Excel file are opened in the same command line, the
local file opens twice, and the Web-based file does not open at all. The issue has been
resolved, and the Web-based file is opened correctly now.

Excel 2007 now uses more efficient buffers when passing arguments to and from XLLs.
Excel 2007 introduced a bug when creating Calculated Items in PivotTables in which the
Calculated Items included relative references to other items in the PivotTable. The issue
has been addressed.
Excel 2007 SP1 dramatically improves the performance of saving a file that has many
document properties (for example, defined names) in Windows Vista.
The camera tool object cannot be inserted into a chart sheet.
When calling the Excel file Open dialog box from a macro, the file name argument is no
longer lost when the dialog box appears.

You print a chart sheet to a printer which does not support the user-specified paper size.
After applying the July Excel public update, certain Excel workspace files (.xlw) may not
open correctly. Excel 2007 SP1 addresses this issue.
A legend appears where it had previously been deleted in a chart sheet.

The Chart Data Series value field does not retain the value set by using a reference to a
Named range on another sheet. The workbook name is changed to "[0]." No errors are
displayed. The chart simply is not updated when you add new data.

Microsoft Office Excel 2003 text boxes that are drawn on a chart disappear if they are
opened and saved in XLS with Excel 2007 and then reopened with Excel 2003.
An inserted picture is not printed if the printer supports dmScale.

In an right-to-left sheet, a shape is inserted into a chart using the object model. When
this occurs, the shape appears off the edge of the upper-right corner of the chart.

The object model returns incorrect values for the vertices of a free-form shape if the
shape has been resized.

When you try to restore your account in Groove 2007, the account is not available. This
problem occurs if the account backup file is more than 60 days old.

You have an auto-activation feature configured on your Groove domain. When you try to
enable a Groove 2007 account by clicking an invitation file (.grv), you are notified that
you do not have an account configured. Additionally, you may receive a dialog box that
prompts you to type an activation key.
When you exit Groove 2007, you receive the following error message:
Invalid access to memory location

When you open a file from the Files tool, you receive a "Groove Unsaved File Alert"
message even though no file is open. Additionally, the message blocks the Groove 2007
shutdown process.
You synchronize Groove 2007 with a server that is running Microsoft Office SharePoint
Server 2007. Then, you add some new content to a SharePoint site. When you complete
the synchronization, Groove remains unsynchronized.

When you type t in the Groove 2007 chat tool on a computer that is running the German
version of Windows Server 2003, the chat tool switches from text mode to ink mode.
MS07-042: Vulnerability in Microsoft XML Core Services could allow remote code
execution

You run Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007 to store Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007
forms. When you view a form in a browser window, the "Powered by: InfoPath Forms
Services" logo is displayed on the form. There is no method to turn off the logo if you do
not want the logo to appear on the form.

You complete a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form on a Forms Server 2007 Web site. As
you add optional sections to the form, the form may become unresponsive. Additionally,
the performance of the computer is decreased.

You develop a Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 form that concatenates the text from
several text boxes when the form is submitted. Then, you complete the form on a server
that is running Forms Server 2007. If one of the text boxes is a multiline text box that
contains empty paragraphs, nonbreaking spaces are saved in the concatenated text.

Additionally, an error message that resembles the following error message is logged in
the SharePoint log:

Consider the following scenario. You open an InfoPath 2007 form template in Visual
Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System (VSTO). Additionally, you press F5 to preview
the form with debugging turn on in InfoPath 2007. Then, InfoPath 2007 starts. However,
the form is not previewed.

You use a Web browser to enter data in a form that was created in InfoPath 2007. Then,
you save the changes to the form. When you close the form and then reopen the form,
the data that you entered in the form is missing.

The ContextChange event does not correctly detect when you switch from one InfoPath
2007 form to another InfoPath 2007 form. When the context change occurs, the
ContextChange event does not start the event handler code to address the context
change event.

Consider the following scenario: • You enable the Open in the browser setting in an
InfoPath Forms Server.
• You create a form that can be opened in a browser or in InfoPath 2007.
• You save the form to a document library on the InfoPath Forms Server.
• You click the hyperlink to the form in the document library.
In this scenario, the form opens in InfoPath and not in a browser.

Consider the following scenario: • You create a browser-enabled form and then add a file
attachment control to the form.
• You publish the form to a Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 document library
with or without using InfoPath Forms Server.
• You upload documents that have file names that use DBCS characters, such as Korean
or Chinese characters.
• You double-click one of the files to download the file by using Internet Explorer.
In this scenario, the file name is scrambled. Additionally, the file cannot be opened unless
you replace the file name extension with the correct file name extension for the file type,
such as ".doc" for a Microsoft Word document or ".xls" for a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
file.

You complete an InfoPath 2007 form and then save the resulting .xml file to a SharePoint
Server document library. Then, you try to open the .xml file in a browser. When you do
this, you may receive the following error message:
This form template is not currently browser-enabled. It must either be republished as a
browser-enabled form, or opened using Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007.
This issue occurs if one of the following conditions is true: • The form was saved by using
a fully qualified domain name to a SharePoint Server document library that has Alternate
Access Mapping (AAM) functionality enabled. Then, you used NetBIOS or the URL of the
file location to open the file.
• The form was saved by using NetBIOS to a SharePoint Server document library that has
AAM functionality enabled. Then, you used the fully qualified domain name of the file
location to open the file.
When you try to open a form in a browser, you may receive a parsing error.

This issue occurs when the CharSet header for the form is not sent to the InfoPath Forms
Server when the call to open the form is sent to a Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition
(J2EE) Web service. When this occurs, the InfoPath Forms Server uses UTF-8 character
encoding to try to read the form. If the form does not use UTF-8 encoding, the parsing
error occurs.
When you copy text from a Rich Text box in InfoPath 2007 to another Rich Text box on a
form, the pasted text increases in font size.

When you try to deploy a solution where you add conditional formatting to a rich text
box so that the rich text box references itself, you receive the following error message:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

After you enable the auto-complete feature on a computer that is running Windows
Vista, the auto-complete feature does not work.
An option or a drop-down list changes conditional visibility. When you select the option
or click a drop-down list, you may receive a script error.

You fill an InfoPath 2007 form in the browser and then click Save to save the form with a
single apostrophe in the file name. When you make some changes to the form and save
the form again, the Save As dialog box appears and indicates some invalid characters in
the file name. The single apostrophe is replaces with the string "' ".

Information Rights Management (IRM) operations that are performed during load
doubled because of HD access to discover the IRM state of the InfoPath 2007 form
template (.xsn) file. Profiles of InfoPath solution loads show that
XDEDSolutionInfra::ExtractIRMInnerSolution unpacks the XSN.

Profiles of InfoPath solution URL-only loads show that

XDDocumentsManager::EnsureUpdatedCachedSolution does not load from cache.

You may experience issues with the refinement of the InfoPath 2007 user interface. For
example, when you leave the mouse pointer on a read-only field, the border changes,
and this change suggests that the field is editable.

You apply the Serbian Cyrillic Language Interface Pack (LIP) to a computer. You switch the
operating system settings from Serbian Latin to Cyrillic. When you try to add Contact
Selector as a custom control, you may receive an error message.
When you click Save to save a file, the file is saved back to the Internet Explorer 7 cache
folder on a computer that is running Windows Vista.

When a Web service method use extended or derived types, changing the values from
the base type causes a server postback. When all the fields are of the same type, no
server postback occurs.

When you install an ActiveX control for digital signatures in the Internet zone or when
you add a signature because of popup blocker, you may experience data loss.
Some times when you export an Outlook appointment, the body text of the appointment
is not exported.

The IME performs slowly when you input Japanese characters and then convert the
characters to kanji

When you input Japanese characters, only hiragana or katakana characters are displayed
in the conversion list. The Input Method Editor (IME) does not convert Japanese
characters to kanji

Microsoft has released an update for the spelling checker in the 2007 Office programs.
This update is for the English-language dictionary. The spelling checker in the 2007 Office
programs now recognizes more words

You add a network share to the Trusted Locations list in the Trust Center in Word 2007.
You create a new document that is based on a template that contains a macro on the
network share. When you try to run the macro, the macro does not run. Additionally, you
receive the following error message:
The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or documentation
of the host application to determine how to enable macros.

When you type a Lotus Notes URL in a 2007 Office document, worksheet, or
presentation, the URL is not resolved to a hyperlink.

You use Microsoft Office Input Method Editor (IME) 2007 to input Japanese characters in
a 2007 Microsoft Office program. If you then convert the characters to kanji characters,
the conversion of the characters may take longer than in earlier versions of IME.

You run IME (Japanese) 2007 on a computer that is also running a data security solution.
When you start a 2007 Microsoft Office program, the computer may use 100 percent of
CPU resources.

Consider the following scenario: • You install IME 2007 for the Japanese language on a
Windows Vista-based computer.
• You add some user-defined words to the IME 2007 user dictionary.
• Protected mode is enabled in Windows Internet Explorer 7.
In this scenario, you cannot enter the user-defined words in Internet Explorer 7 by using
IME 2007.

You receive an access violation error message in module Imjkapi.dll when you try to
install hotfix 929550 or any Windows update on a Windows Vista-based computer that
has the locale set to Korean

when you start Excel:
Microsoft Office has detected a potential security concern. Warning: The digital signature
is valid, but is from a publisher whom you have not yet chosen to trust.
However, the button to enable the XLL is unavailable (dimmed). Therefore, you cannot
run the XLL.

When you analyze reports in the Office Migration Planning Manager (OMPM) tool for
access compatibility, you may receive the following error message:
ODBC - Call fail.
This problem only occurs in Japanese version of Microsoft operating system.

The 2007 Office suite SP1 adds an option for the IME (Japanese) to exclude special
characters. This lets the user choose how the IME inputs ShiftJIS characters, or non-
Surrogate characters.

When you insert a picture into a chart through the Object Model, the 2007 Office suite
sets the top and left properties of the picture before setting the width and height
properties. This can cause the picture to be inserted into the wrong location in a chart.
When you use the Shapes Object Model to apply a chart background effect , the effect
only applies to the selected chart element instead of to the whole chart.

When you print 3D objects with laser or inkjet printers in the 2007 Office suite, shapes
may be not filled with the same darkness
This problem occurs with most of the printers from major printer manufactures in Japan.

The Restore Table scale functionality helps the user to restore the table width and height.
To achieve this functionality, the 2007 Office program sets the scalewidth and scaleheight
property of the shape object. However, setting Shape.ScaleWidth and Shape.ScaleHeight,
throws an exception when its second parameter, RelativeToOriginalSize, is set to
msoTrue.

When you try to print a presentation using the Concourse theme in PowerPoint 2007,
slide layouts that use the background gradient may print with a black triangle in the
upper left-hand corner. This problem may also occur with the Adobe PDF print driver and
Microsoft XPS Document Writer.
The 2007 Microsoft Office suite cannot display an Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) format of
a picture in a form
When you try to manually ungroup an imported picture through the user interface of
PowerPoint 2007, you may receive the following informational message:

This is an imported picture, not a group. Do you want to convert it to a Microsoft Office
drawing object?
If you click Yes, the picture will be converted to a drawing object.

When you try to programmatically ungroup the imported picture by selecting the picture
and using the ActiveWindow.Selection.ShapeRange.Ungroup method in the Visual Basic
Editor, you may receive the error message:

Run-time error '-2147024891 (80070005)': This member can only be accesses for a group.

You have an Excel-based solution which includes the .xll files. You want to make it start
smoothly without security prompts. You place the .xll files into a trusted location to avoid
security prompts. However, you may still receive a security warning on the start of Excel.
When you use later builds of Windows Vista, the Office 2007 applications cannot restart
after the application crashes.

On a Windows Vista-based computer, you try to open a Word document through a

SharePoint site while IE7 is running under the low rights setting (the default setting). The
Word document is restricted to disable any VBA rights. When you try to open it for a
second time, you cannot open it.
Verification fails for xml signatures which use .Net 3.0 Packaging APIs

When you apply a patch to the 2007 Microsoft Office applications on a computer with
heap validation, the installation will crash or the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) entry
will not be written

Office Customization Tool (OCT) generates wrong registry data for the DWORD value of
the JunkMailProtection registry entry
OCT sets incorrect registry values for the JunkEmailProtectionlevel policy for Outlook
2007.

The Office Customization Tool (OCT) writes incorrect registry values for Office security
settings which cause unsafe ActiveX initialization.
While typing or converting an Input Method Editor's (IME) composition string, the
composition string sometimes disappears. This issue was fixed in SP1.
In some versions of Microsoft Office, the System Information dialog box may not open in
some scenarios. This issue was fixed in SP1.
The installation of SP1 sets the default Input Method Editor (IME) as Microsoft® Office
IME 2007.

You install a mixed-language version of Office, such as Hindi ProPlus, on an English

version of Windows. You boot any of the Hindi applications and then press F1 to get
help. You receive an error message that states that "no help topics are available that

Your enterprise administrator has installed Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services in an
extranet configuration. You go to the Windows SharePoint Services home page and then
click the "?" icon to launch Help, but Help cannot be displayed.

You go to your Windows SharePoint Services site and click the "?" icon to launch Help.
You search for "What's New" or for another topic that has an apostrophe, but no results
are returned.
The Border.Weight method to set or get the weight of a shape now sets or gets a value
that is the same as Microsoft Office 2003.

The Application.DataEntryMode macro now no longer enables you to select, move, or

resize a shape.  In Office 2003, these commands were disabled in Data Entry mode.

You use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to execute the following commands on a
picture and on a picture link:  Sheet1.pictures.cut and Sheet1.paste. When you do this,
both the picture and the picture link are now cut and pasted. Previously, only the the
picture link was pasted.

You create a presentation that has a white background and light-colored font. You add
text to a slide and then use the Save As command to save the slide as a PNG, GIF, or JPEG
file. When you do this, the quality of the text in the new file is very poor. This issue is
fixed in SP1.

If you create a workbook in Excel 2007 and insert a rectangle into the worksheet, you can
correctly set the Rectangles().Interior.PatternColorIndex to “xlColorIndexAutomatic” or
“xlColorIndexNone” via Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).  However, when you try to get
the Interior.PatternColorIndex, the actual index of the color is returned rather than
“xlColorIndexAutomatic” or ”xlColorIndexNone”. This issue is fixed in SP1.

When using a Dutch spelling checker, the word "waneer" is not flagged as being
misspelled. With SP1, it is flagged as being incorrect, and the correct word, "wanneer," is
suggested.
Improvements to internal text measurement and drawing functions result in faster
display and resizing of user interface elements.
Improvements were made to the Thai spelling checker.

The German spelling checker was updated to reflect the 2006 German spelling reform.
Improvements were made to the Catalan spelling checker.
Improvements were made to the Russian spelling checker.
The OEM Pre-install Kit (OPK) is updated to make sure that end users accept the Office
end-user license agreement (EULA) for all scenarios.
A fix was made to ensure correct OEM referral tracking during the conversion from a trial
version of Office to a perpetual license.

Corrects an issue that occurs when converting an Office trial product to the Office Basic
or Office Small Business suites. This issue is that certain Office features, such as Picture
Manager, are still in a trial state after the conversion.
You can specify that a sound is played after you perform an action in the Office User
Interface, such as clicking a menu button. The registry contains a pointer to the location
of a sound file for each action. If no registry entry is found, no attempt is made to search
for a default sound file. Therefore, performance is improved.

When you use the text recognition feature to obtain text from many pictures in OneNote
2007, the text recognition feature may stop working.

In OneNote 2007, you use the text recognition feature to obtain text that is contained in
pictures. When you paste the text onto a page, OneNote 2007 parses the text as if it
were in the default language of the version of OneNote 2007 that you are using.
Therefore, the spelling checker reports many misspelled words.

For example, OneNote 2007 is installed in English. When you obtain Spanish-language
text from a picture, OneNote 2007 parses the Spanish-language text as if it were English.

You insert a picture into a page in OneNote 2007. At the same time, OneNote 2007 is
indexing other content. In this situation, OneNote 2007 does not index the text in the
picture until it finishes indexing the other content. Therefore, text in the picture does not
become immediately searchable.

Additionally, OneNote 2007 may consume some CPU resources if it tries to determine
whether it has finished indexing the other content. For example, OneNote 2007 may
consume about 20% of CPU resources.

After you open a notebook that is shared by multiple users in OneNote 2007, a memory
leak may occur.

For example, if you leave the notebook open for a whole day, the memory usage for
OneNote 2007 increases from 35 megabytes (MB) to 608 MB.

Consider the following scenario. You have a notebook that is shared by multiple people in
OneNote 2007. The notebook is stored on a server. On the server, a user inserts a shape
into the notebook. At the same time, another user inserts a shape into the notebook on a
client computer.

In this scenario, when OneNote 2007 merges the changes, it discards the shape that was
inserted into the notebook on the client computer.

Note This issue also occurs for the shape of the Ink Serialization Format (ISF).
You install a language pack on the English version of OneNote 2007. When you insert a
file as a printout, you receive the following error message:
Print driver is not correctly installed.
This problem occurs because OneNote 2007 tries to find a printer whose name is
identical to the language of the language pack. However, no printer has this name.
Therefore, OneNote 2007 cannot locate the correct printer.

This problem also occurs when you change the name of a OneNote 2007 printer.

On a client computer, you open a document library on a Microsoft Windows SharePoint

Services 3.0 site. The document library uses the "Microsoft Office OneNote section"
document template. Additionally, the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site requires
credentials.

When you click New Document, OneNote 2007 starts. However, OneNote 2007 does not
create any section or open any notebook.

You have a computer that has Microsoft ActiveSync installed. You use the screen clipping
feature in OneNote 2007 to capture a screen clip of a Web site in Windows Internet
Explorer 7. When you do this, the screen clip may contain an incorrect URL and an
incorrect tab name.

You have a OneNote 2007 notebook that is stored on a Windows SharePoint Services
site. You open the notebook by using a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path. When
you work in the notebook, you may lose data.
You cannot scroll through documents in OneNote 2007 by using the scroll wheel of some
wireless mouse devices.

You open a OneNote 2007 file. You click Add to Dictionary to add a misspelled word to
the custom dictionary. When you open the file on another computer in read-only mode,
you receive the following message:
This section contains changes that cannot be synced because access to the section file is
denied. Correct the file permissions or save your copy of this section elsewhere.
When you right-click a OneNote 2007 file and then click Print, the file is not printed. Or,
you cannot insert a OneNote 2007 file into a Live Meeting session.

A page contains a ghost bullet in OneNote 2007. The section that contains the page is not
read-only. When you open the page, the section is saved unexpectedly. Additionally, if
the file is stored on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site, Windows SharePoint Services
3.0 sends a notification that the file has changed.

If the file that contains the section is read-only, you receive the following message:
This section contains changes that cannot be synced because access to the section file is
denied. Correct the file permissions or save your copy of this section elsewhere.
On a computer that is running Windows Vista, you open a OneNote 2007 file that is
stored on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site. If any problem occurs in Windows
SharePoint Services 3.0, the file is opened in read-only mode. Therefore, you cannot edit
the file.

You open a OneNote 2007 file that is corrupted. However, the information bar that warns
you about the file corruption may not appear. Therefore, you do not realize that the file
is corrupted. If you change the file, the changes may be lost.

When you click a OneNote 2007 protocol handler to open a remote file, you do not
receive a message before OneNote 2007 opens the file.

In another situation, the OneNote 2007 protocol handler is inside the IFRAME element.
When you click the OneNote 2007 protocol handler, Internet Explorer opens the file
without notifying you.

Note A OneNote 2007 protocol handler has the following format:

onenote:// Link

In the release version of OneNote 2007, only the following languages are enabled for the
text recognition feature: • Dutch
• English
• Finnish
• French
• German
• Italian
• Norwegian
• Portuguese
• Spanish
• Swedish

You have a OneNote 2007 file that is stored on a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site.
You open this file in OneNote 2007. Then, you copy a hyperlink to an element in the file.
For example, you copy the hyperlink to a notebook or to a section in the file. When you
do this, the hyperlink may not work.

Consider the following scenario: • You configure the text recognition feature to use a
language other than the default language of OneNote 2007.
• You configure the Windows input language to be the same language as the language of
the text recognition feature. However, the Windows input language has a different
dialect.
• You use the text recognition feature to obtain text from a picture.
In this scenario, when you paste the text, the text is always in English.

This update applies only to the v1 version of the Outlook Time Zone Data Update tool. If
you are using the current version of this tool, this update is not required.
This article describes an update to the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Microsoft Office
Outlook. This update contains a change to the Microsoft Windows Installer package (.msi
file) that enables you to install and use the Time Zone Data Update Tool for Outlook on

A delegate opens another user's mailbox. Then, the delegate searches for an e-mail
message. If an e-mail message is marked as private, the message unexpectedly appears in
the Preview pane.

Every time that you try to start Outlook 2007, it crashes. This issue occurs if the junk e-
mail rule is set to NULL.

In an Item.Close() event, if the currently closed item is discarded by making a call to the
Item.Close olDiscard method, you receive the following error message:
The Item’s properties and methods cannot be used inside this event procedure.

You experience performance issues in Outlook 2007 when you work with large .pst files
or with large .ost files.

When you sign-in to Communicator, Outlook is started in the background. For example,
when you check Task Manager, the Outlook.exe process is running. Additionally, Outlook-
related items, such as meeting reminders, may appear.

To check for a missed conversation, you click the "Voice Mail" search folder in Outlook
2007. Or, you click the "Missed Conversation" notification in Microsoft Office
Communicator. If you then check for a missed conversation in the same session of
Communicator, you receive a notification that states that Outlook could not be started.
In Outlook 2007, you cannot add an appointment to a Windows SharePoint Services site
calendar by sending the appointment to the calendar.

You create a form that uses the Item.Close statement in an Item_Write event. When you
save and then close a new item that was created by using the form in Outlook 2007,
Outlook 2007 closes unexpectedly. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for
the inconvenience.

When a message is saved as a missed conversation in the Microsoft Office Communicator

folder in Outlook 2007, the message indicator for the folder does not indicate a new,
unread message.
The regional options on the computer are set to Latvian. In an Outlook form, you either
click a date in a date field or type the date and then add a space after the date in a date
field. When you press TAB to exit the date field, the date is removed. Additionally, the
date is replaced with None.

You try to open a user's shared calendar in Outlook 2007. If the user's mailbox is in a
different administrative group, the shared mailbox cannot be synchronized correctly.
Additionally, an event that resembles the following event is logged in the Application log:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: MSExchangeSA
Event Category: RFR Interface
Event ID: 9234

You use a custom solution in a trusted simple MAPI environment to send e-mail
messages in Outlook 2007. If an e-mail message contains more than five recipients, the e-
mail aliases are not resolved. Additionally, the Outlook security dialog box unexpectedly
appears

You have multiple appointments scheduled for a day in the calendar in Outlook 2007.
When you print the calendar in Monthly style, only two appointments are printed for the
day.

This issue may occur even though there is sufficient room for all the appointments to
print for that day.

Daylight saving time (DST) for Western Australia starts on a different day in 2007 and in
2008 than it did in 2006. In 2007 and 2008, DST starts at 2 A.M. on the last Sunday in
October, and DST ends at 2 A.M. on the last Sunday in March. This hotfix package fixes
Outlook 2007 so that it automatically adjusts to these DST changes.

You use the Plan a Meeting wizard in Outlook 2007 to plan a meeting in which multiple
resources have been added to the meeting request. If you click to clear the resources
that you do not want Outlook to try to book, the resources are not removed from the
meeting request. Additionally, Outlook continues to try to book the resources.
You use a Microsoft Exchange Client Extension that has toolbar icons. If the toolbar icons
contain transparent colors that were applied to the icons in earlier versions of Outlook,
the transparent colors are no longer transparent when you use the toolbar in Outlook
2007.

You sort your Inbox in ascending order with the oldest messages at the top of the Inbox.
If the newest item in the Inbox is selected, and you switch to a different folder, the
newest item in the Inbox is no longer selected when you switch back to the Inbox.
Instead, an older item is selected near the top of the Inbox.

You copy or you move items from an Offline Folder file (.ost) to a Personal Folders file
(.pst). When you click a message in the .pst file, the message is not displayed in the
reading pane. Instead, you receive the following message in the reading pane:
This is a message header. The full item has not been downloaded
If you try to open the message in the .pst file, the message is not opened. Instead, you
receive the following message:
Can't open this item. This operation is not supported until the entire message is
downloaded. Download the message and try again.

After you set the CSM_DO_NOT_CRAWL option and the CSM_CLIENT_DO_NOT_CHANGE

option in the CrawlSourceSupportMask property for a custom message store, the custom
message store is crawled in Outlook 2007.
When a custom form calls the Item.Close method, Outlook 2007 may stop responding
(crash) unexpectedly.
When you search in public folders for activities that are linked to a contact, the activities
that are linked to the contact are not listed in the search results.

When you forward a plain text e-mail message that contains an attachment, the body of
the e-mail message is missing when the message is received. However, the attachment is
received.
If the Mailbox Cleanup Wizard starts when you are moving messages, Outlook 2007
apparently stops responding (hangs).

In Outlook 2007, you click Options on the Tools menu, click the Preferences tab, and then
click to clear the Default reminder check box. Then, you accept a meeting request. When
you view the meeting in the calendar, the Reminder box is not set to None.

You use an Outlook Mobile Service (Text Messaging) account in Outlook 2007 on a
computer that has the regional options set to Turkish. When you try to send an e-mail
message such as a text message or a multimedia message to a recipient, the recipient
does not receive the message. Additionally, you receive a non-delivery report (NDR).

When you view an HTML-formatted e-mail message in the preview pane or when you
open an HTML-formatted e-mail message, the body of the e-mail message is blank.
You view other users' calendars in Outlook 2007. If you lose network connectivity, the
other users' calendars are removed from the Calendar view when the network
connection is restored.

You start Outlook 2007 in Cached Exchange Mode and with the reading pane active. If an
e-mail message that contains a custom form that has code is selected, and the
MessageClass is changed, the custom form and the code are displayed unexpectedly in
the reading pane. For example, this issue occurs if the MessageClass is changed to
IPM.Note.ReadEvent. Additionally, CPU usage may be greater than expected.

You try to view the send options for a fax address on a computer that is running
Microsoft Exchange Server. If there are more than five address spaces configured for the
fax address, the send options do not open. Additionally, you receive the following error
message:
Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this
recipient. To set option for this message, click Options on the toolbar.

You run Outlook 2007 on a computer that has the time zone set to (GMT+02:00)
Jerusalem. If you have recurring appointments that occur after April 1, you cannot open
the appointment. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
You changed one of the recurrences of this item, and this instance no longer exists. Close
any open items and try again.

You use the PSTDisconnectDelay registry value to release the lock on the .pst file in
Outlook 2007. When you try to perform a function on the .pst file, you receive an error
message that resembles the following error message:
Cannot rename PST_name : It is being used by another person or program. Close any
programs that might be using the file and try again.
For example, this issue occurs when you try to rename the .pst file.

When you attach a file to an e-mail message in Outlook 2007, the attachment does not
appear in the e-mail message. This issue occurs if you save the e-mail message before
you attach the file.

You run a program that uses the Microsoft Windows "Selected Items" color to select an
item. When you use that program to capture the text of a selected item in Microsoft
Office Outlook 2007, the program cannot capture the text and cannot use the text

Consider the following scenario. As an administrator, you may have to prevent users from
saving e-mail items to their local Personal Folders file (.pst). To do this, you use Group
Policy to prevent the user from adding a .pst file to his or her profile in Microsoft Office
Outlook 2007. However, if a user right-clicks an e-mail item, drags the item to the
Deleted Items folder and then clicks Copy, the item is unexpectedly copied to the Deleted
Items folder in the user's local .pst file
You add another user's mailbox to your profile in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. When
you perform an action that opens a custom form in the other user's mailbox, the custom
form does not open. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The form you selected cannot be displayed. The object could not be found.

Daylight saving time (DST) for New Zealand starts on a different day in 2007 and in 2008
than it did in 2006. In 2007 and in 2008, DST starts at 2:00 A.M. on the last Sunday in
September. Additionally, DST ends at 3:00 A.M. on the first Sunday in April. This hotfix
package updates Outlook 2007 so that it automatically adjusts to these DST changes.

You create a meeting request that has a resource such as a meeting room as a recipient
in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. When you view the Scheduling page, the public
free/busy information for the resource is missing or incomplete.

Consider the following scenario. You use Cached Exchange Mode in Microsoft Office
Outlook 2007. Additionally, you use the DownloadOAB registry value to prevent the
automatic download of the offline address book (OAB). When you press F9 to send and
receive e-mail messages in all Outlook accounts, Outlook unexpectedly tries to download
the OAB. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
TASK 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004010F) : The operation failed. An
object could not be found.

You create an update to a meeting request in Outlook 2007. If the meeting request is
open when you create the update, you receive the following error message:
The function cannot be performed because the message has been changed.
However, when you click OK to close the error message, the update or the exception is
sent to the attendees.

Fixes are available to resolve various issues that occur in the Change Calendar Time Zone
functionality in Outlook 2007. These fixes were included in the updated Time Zone Data

When you subscribe to an Atom feed that was published by the new version of Blogger,
all previous blog entries display a date of 1/1/06 in Outlook 2007.
When you subscribe to multiple RSS feeds in Outlook 2007, some duplicate messages
that have the same text and links are displayed. Some duplicate messages have the same
time stamp. Some duplicate messages have different time stamps.

When you modify some e-mail items in Outlook 2007, no event message is displayed.
Additionally, when you open the Application event log, the event log lists a Warning
event instead of an Information event. You should receive the following event message:

Outlook Search has encountered an error and is temporarily disabling indexing for store
%1 (error=%2).

Note In this event message, %1 is the store name, %2 is the error code.

Users cannot obtain calendar free/busy information via the object model if the server is
not using a public folder.

At times, users are unable to cancel a meeting. Microsoft Outlook warns them that the
item has been changed, but closing and reopening the item has no effect .

When customers use Encrypted File System on their temporary files folder, they cannot
use the Save As feature in Outlook to save attachments to drives that are not encrypted.
At times, a meeting is duplicated on the calendar. One item is tentative and the other
item has been accepted.
Duplicate items may appear in a WSS list during a sync between Outlook and WSS. This
issue was fixed in SP1.
The View.CalendarViewMode property was not returning results in the object model.
This issue was fixed in SP1.
At times, a calendar summary cannot be sent even though it is enabled.
Even though users have not received new time zone definitions, they are autoprompted
to correct their appointments.
Clicking on a new mail notification prompt can cause a message to be mistakenly marked
as Read.
Installing an Office 11 application when Office 12 is already installed can prevent mail
from being indexed.
Sent messages could be mistakenly left in the Outbox on the server if the user checks the
option to save replies with the original message in folders other than the Inbox.
The mouse cursor intermittently switches to a busy cursor while browsing mail by using
the keyboard.
The Properties button for the modem does not work when you click "Connect using my
phone line" on Internet E-mail settings.
If you use a right-to-left (RTL) language such as Hebrew or Arabic, appointments may
appear outside the calendar space when they are printed.

Outlook items can be moved to a read-only SharePoint list from the "Move to Folder"
menu in the item's Ribbon. However, these items are not actually synched to the
SharePoint list.
The mail message body may be lost when forwarding e-mail.
Object Model (OM) clients cannot programmatically inspect the VBScript on their custom
form.

At times, Outlook experiences a short freeze after a POP3 download batch is completed.
At times, it takes a long time to perform a folder switch when switching to a folder that
contains many messages.

Memory usage spikes after adding several RSS feeds to Windows Internet Explorer 7.

An Object Model (OM) client tries to create a hidden item in a folder with which to store
settings. However, that item becomes visible and appears in the Inbox.
A special RSS folder can be created regardless of group policy.

A user deletes an existing recipient from the "To" or "Cc" line and then selects the "Reply
All with IM" or "Call All" option in the personal menu or Ribbon. When the user does
this, a conversation windows opens that contains all the recipients, including the deleted
recipient.

When printing the month view of a calendar, events that span multiple weeks are not
drawn beyond the first week.

When you share a folder with a delegate, the delegate can start caching the shared folder
even though he or she did not specifically request to open it. The delegate has no link to
your calendar. Therefore, the delegate cannot stop the caching process.

You create a custom form and then call "item.Close" in the event callback of a VBScript
that is associated with the custom form. When you do this, Outlook crashes.
When POP3 is configured with SSL via Autodiscover.xml, SMTP is incorrectly configured
to use SSL.
When you create a recurring meeting request that has an exception, changes that were
made to the meeting may be lost. This issue was fixed in SP1.
After rebasing a meeting using the Time Zone Update Tool, Outlook sends updates to all
attendees, including all resources. Outlook no longer sends updates to resources.
Outlook now appears in the Set Program Access and Default UI of Windows.
If a user's computer hibernates or goes into standby mode, the list of shared calendars in
the Calendar navigation pane may be lost.
An unnecessary automatic prompt is displayed when a user changes his or her time zone.
This issue is fixed in SP1.
If a user has a recurring Calendar item that has mismatched time zone data, Outlook
cannot open the item.
A meeting organizer receives responses to a meeting request. When the organizer opens
the meeting, the attendee names may appear two times.

If a user in one Exchange forest is added as a delegate to a conference room in a different

forest, that user will not be able to open the mailbox. This issue was fixed in SP1.

In certain cases, users do not see free/busy information. This issue occurs because
dynamic time zones are not supported by the availability service. This issue was fixed in
SP1.

If your system clock is behind the clock of the Exchange 2007 server's system clock, a
meeting that you have accepted may revert to being tentative. This issue was fixed in
SP1.
Unicode strings in some rules conditions or exceptions cause some characters to become
question marks (?). This issue was fixed in SP1.

Outlook hangs when large groups of messages are moved from one store to another.
Outlook may hang when it plays the reminder sound.
Outlook may hang when it runs together with the OneNote add-in.

POP3 sync is sometimes slow. An issue that contributed to this issue was fixed in SP1.

If a user experiences a sync problem at startup that is not a network error, that user will
not receive new mail in that folder unless he or she switches folders and returns to the
problematic folder. This issue was fixed in SP1.

When sending an e-mail message that has a subject that is in Unicode, the subject of the
received messages may become "??????." This issue was fixed in SP1.
If two or more security forms apply to a particular user, that user may have the incorrect
security settings applied.
A large number of items may fail to be indexed. This issue was fixed in SP1.

Items that a user tries to index while shutting down are dropped and may not be indexed.

A custom form listens for the Item_Read event and is the first item that is displayed in
the Reading pane when Outlook is started. In this case, Outlook may spike the CPU until it
is closed and then reopened. This issue is fixed in SP1.
A meeting organizer updates a meeting while another user has the meeting open. When
the update is accepted, the meeting may disappear or may display the wrong time in the
calendar.

If a meeting organizer changes the time zone of a meeting, he or she is no longer given
the option to save the changes without sending an update. This condition could result in
attendees having different meeting times.
If an attendee is in a different time zone than a meeting organizer, the organizer's time
zone is stamped on the meeting.

Programs that try to access the PST file or the OST file through regular Win32 APIs cannot
access the file. This issue prevents any automated backup of PST files while Outlook is
running. This issue was fixed in SP1.
Duplicate appointments may appear in a user's calendar without the user taking any
action.
A user's computer may hang if the user runs Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista and
connects over a slow connection. This issue was fixed in SP1.

When you try to open a PowerPoint 2007 presentation from a Web site, PowerPoint
2007 starts. However, only a blank presentation is visible.

In PowerPoint 2007, you try to programmatically test whether a text range has a
hyperlink that is assigned to it. If only a part of the text range has a hyperlink, the test
returns a positive result. This is true even though the rest of the text range does not have
a hyperlink that is assigned to it.

You run a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) macro to programmatically read
the paragraph bounds values in a PowerPoint 2007 presentation. After the VBA macro

You have a macro that updates the paths to movie files in your slides in PowerPoint 2007.
When you reset the SourceFullName property, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual Basic
Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)'
LinkFormat (unknown member): Failed.

You open a PowerPoint Show (.pps) file in full-screen view two times. Then, you close the
file. In this situation, PowerPoint 2007 stops responding.
A slide contains hyperlinked text. When you try to count the number of links on the slides
by using the Slide.Hyperlinks API, the value is displayed as "0."

When you perform a Find operation or a Replace operation, the operation is not limited
to the scope of the current text range. Instead, the operation starts at the beginning of
the text body and then covers all the body text.
When you try to count text placeholders on the slides in PowerPoint 2007, an incorrect
value is returned. This problem occurs if the text formatting is different for the text
placeholders.

Consider the following scenario: • In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, you remove the
bullets from the body text placeholder of the existing slide master.
When you select
• You make somethe text intoa the

filecell,
andyou cannot
then access
save the filethe

ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text method of the object model
• You open the .ppt file in PowerPoint 2007, save the file as a .pptx file, (OM).
and then reopen
the file as a .pptx file.
• You save this .pptx file as a .ppt file.
• You reopen the newly saved .ppt file in PowerPoint 2003.
In this scenario, you may find that the bullets that you removed reappear on the original
slide master.

When you save a presentation and set a password to open or to modify the presentation
in PowerPoint 2007, you receive the following error message:
There was an error accessing <path><filename>.

When you try to print or print preview a large project in Microsoft Office Project 2007,
you may experience one of the following symptoms:
• You receive an out of memory error message.
• You see nothing other than the Page Setup button or the Help button.
• You see only part of the preview.
When you try to edit the graphical indicator in Microsoft Office Project 2007, you find
that the graphical indicator information is not saved.

After you remove user permissions from a deliverable in a Microsoft Windows SharePoint
Services (WSS) server and open the project again, Microsoft Office Project Professional
2007 crashes

You try to open a project in Microsoft Office Project 2007 after updates have been
applied. If the list separator on the client computer is not a comma, you will receive the
following error message:
Invalid name for a resource.
Resource names cannot contain brackets ([]) or the list separator character.

If a project is saved to the Microsoft Office Project 2003 file format, outline code values
for tasks or resources may be missing.

When you try to open a password protected file that was created in Project 2003 and
then save the file in the Microsoft Office Project 2007 file format, you receive the
following error message:

The password is incorrect

The Cumulative % Complete field in summary task is incorrect for nested summary tasks
in Microsoft Office Project 2007. This problem occurs because the Cumulative %
Complete field does not calculate the totals across the whole duration at the top most
summary level.

If you save a project to the Microsoft Project 2000 - 2003 (*.mpp) format in Microsoft
Office Project 2007, task outlines may become confused and task properties may be lost.
For example, task names are not saved.

Additionally, the project may crash when you open it in Microsoft Office Project 2003.

If a migrated Microsoft Office Project 2003 server has custom fields, you can rename the
fields in Microsoft Project Web Access (PWA) and see them in various locations in PWA.
However, Microsoft Office Project Professional 2007 does not recognize the new names
in existing projects.
When you open a project in Microsoft Office Project 2007, you find that all custom field
data is missing.
In Microsoft Office Project 2007, Actual Fixed costs for summary tasks is not distributed
correctly if the accrual type is prorated.
You cannot save the baseline or a baseline takes a very long time to save. You cannot find
any baseline dates in the Baseline Start and Finish field.

Additionally, the save process takes a very long time.

When a single resource is assigned to tasks in more than one project and the Resource
Assignments summary view is used in a Project Web Access page, Internet Explorer
crashes with an error message that resembles the following:

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The
following add-on was running when this error occurred: PJGRID12.ocx

This problem occurs when there is a large amount of data that has to be displayed in the
grid control and the data cannot be returned. This cause the grid to crash which in turn
causes Internet Explorer to crash.

You may receive multiple false error messages when you try to save a Project 2003 XML
file to Project Server 2007.

After entering the "percent complete" value for a task, the task finish date is
unexpectedly rescheduled into the future. This issue occurs in a plan that is scheduled
from finish with a cost and a work resource assigned.
You cannot edit an enterprise resource’s name by opening the enterprise resource pool
in Project Professional because the field is disabled.

You save an existing plan as an Excel file and then try to save the project plan back to the
server. When you do this, you may receive the following false error message: "You do not
have sufficient permissions to save this project to Project Server. Please contact your
server administrator."

When using the Assign Resources dialog box, all resources in the dialog box are selected.
This condition makes it easy to mistakenly assign all resources to a task or to a group of
tasks.
If a subproject is open or checked out, and if the same plan is modified in a master plan,
the master plan cannot be saved.

You cannot see assignments for other shared files when opening a project that shares a
resource pool across multiple MPP files and when the other projects are not opened.

In Project 2007, you navigate to a Windows SharePoint Services 2.0 Web site list that has
an MPP file and then click "Edit in Microsoft Project." When you do this, the file opens as
read-only instead of as read-write. Now, a dialog box displays a choice for read-only or
for read-write.

On the Tools menu, you click Options and then click Calculation. If you select the "Move
end of" and "Move start of" options, and if you add actual work to assignments, the
task's remaining work value and finish date are changed incorrectly.
You create a project using the default calendar settings in the English version of Project
and then open the same project in the French version (or in a version that by default has
a different calendar). Then, you save the project in the Project 2003 format. When you
reopen the project, it may not calculate correctly.

When the time-phased data for a resource assignment gets into a "bad" state, the server-
side scheduling engine may consume a large amount of CPU processing time.
Additionally, this issue prevents previewing or applying updates on projects.

If the URL for project workspaces that are created on publish is longer than 100
characters, you may receive the following error: "The Project workspace cannot be
provisioned. The site where the project ... "
If you save an MPP file with a write reservation password, you cannot open the project
again in read-only mode.

When opening an XML file in Project 2007 that contains custom fields, you may receive
the following error message: "An unexpected error occurred during command
execution."

In Project Professional, you access the File/Open dialog box and then select the Group By
list. When you do this, you may not see all the available fields, and there is no scroll bar
to allow you to navigate through the list. A scroll bar has been added to the dialog box to
allow you to see all the values.

When you use the Project Task Information dialog box to change the resource for an
existing assignment, the assignment GUID changes. This causes a problem when trying to
access the original assignment GUID, such as when another application updates or
modifies assignments.

If you create a multiple-day task and then enter zero actual work for the first day, the
task is rescheduled as expected. However, if you enter zero actual work on the second
day, nothing is recorded, and the task is not rescheduled.

Baselines take a very long time to save or are not saved at all. This issue may occur for
complex plans, such as plans that have a large number of custom calendars, long elapsed
duration tasks, and so on.
Using a graphical indicator in a Project Center view, the field may not display the correct
value for the Project Summary task.

If you are using a remote Local Cache folder, and if you lose network connectivity, a new
local cache folder is created. There is no error message. The next time that you open a
project from your local cache, the plan is not listed. Now, a message is displayed that
tells you about the problem and states that your data will be lost.
When you copy data from Excel that includes blank cells and then paste the data into
Project, you may see garbled text.

When you modify an enterprise resource custom field value for a local resource, save the
plan, and then re-open the plan, the field value may revert to the original value.
You open a plan from the Project Web Access Project Center in Project Professional and
then modify the plan. If Project is closed before the save process reaches 100%, the plan
may not correctly be saved again when subsequent modifications are made.
If you have a custom field that has a formula, and if you group a view by that custom
field, Project may crash.

Instead, the Times New Roman font is applied.

If you use a table of contents (TOC) field in an unprotected section, and if the document
also contains sections that are protected for forms, you may experience the following
symptoms: • If you delete a heading that is already listed in the TOC, you can update the
TOC field only one time.
• If you add a new heading or change an existing heading, you can run the Update Field
command. However, the TOC is not updated, and you do not receive an error message.
