Introduction to Blended Classrooms using Platoweb

Title: Introduction to blending classrooms with Platoweb. Gary Z. White
Grade Levels: 5th-12th grade
Curriculum Areas: All curriculum areas.
This one-hour workshop is designed to introduce teachers to Platoweb, and how it can be used to
create a blended classroom. Plato is an online learning tool which has entire curriculums for
almost all of the subjects we teach at Ackerman Academy. The curriculum is aligned to common
core standards. At Ackerman academy the teachers are often expected to teach multiple classes
at once with groups of students who have a wide range of abilities. Platoweb will allow students
to work independently in their specific subject area. The pretests at the beginning of each lesson
exempt students from work they have mastered and assign lessons based on areas of weakness.
The program also offers a wide variety of grading reports so teachers can measure growth and
see where students need extra help or time.
