A. Art takes different forms depending on the materials and techniques used.

A. Texture is a surface quality that can be captured by rubbings or markings.
B. Textures form patterns.

DIFFERENTIATION
There will be a writing component along with the art component. That way, students who are
waiting to receive their materials or finish early can work on that.
The students are responsible for cutting out their own owl template, but it is a wide and easy
cut out.
I will be displaying an example on the board that I will refer to during explanation. I will leave it
there for students to look at while they work, for those who rely on a visual example to further
their understanding.

Students will be shown an example and explained their expectations. They will be told that
they are responsible for cutting the template, colouring it and then arranging the various art
materials in a way that is original and interesting to a viewer.
RESOURCES/MATERIALS
Example template, 26 owl templates, 26 owl question sheets, scissors for each student, glue
(preferably bottle),crayons/pencil crayons, materials to glue on template ( E.g. tissue paper,
pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, yarn)

Clean up: collect completed crafts and
worksheet. Put away all remaining materials
that is still acceptable for use in the art bins.
Clean up scraps of paper, materials and
dispose. Wipe off desks if there is still debris of
glue.

and materials. One person per pod
can return unused materials to the
art bins.
