can be done, because it helps all of
us when we help one another.
What are the challenges in
poverty?
About 44% of children in the United States live in families with
incomes below the federal poverty threshold (Child). When it comes
to school there are many factors that affect the child from not getting a
good education. Some are not being prepared; low income children
cannot afford to buy school supplies, and get into early childhood
education like head start. They might go to kindergarten not being able
to recognize colors or being able to count. Another challenge is poor
nutrition; children go to school hungry and that makes it hard from
them to concentrate. The last challenges children in poverty have lack
of medical care. When children dont have access to medical care it
makes it hard for them to learn because they dont get their eyes
checked out and dental or mental health problems they may have.
