The chart that I have chosen was chart number seven, the purpose of the chart that is
being used is to show just how unequal the pay is between men and women in the workforce.
The way that you can tell what the creator of the chart is trying to get across to the reader is in
the title. The creator has made a clever title and labeled the chart happy unequal pay day. It
shows every year of gender pay day and using data shows the gap between what a man and a
women make while working the same job.
From reading the article I get the impression that the creator is a women and she is not
pleased with the gap that remains between the sexes even to this day and age. The author uses
persuasion to target emotion of inequality to win over the readers. The chart itself is hard to
understand and is poorly done in my opinion.
I do not think that the chart is well put together and that it did not help the authors case
in any way. The chart is poorly designed and lacks simple understanding, to me it seems like the
creator just threw numbers and bars onto a graph and made it difficult to read. I will say that the
information that the author has stated is accurate and well supported information.
