Proposal
For our semester long multimodal inquiry project we will be studying
the stage of childhood development. We will do extensive research to gather
information about different childhood developments and what affects these
developments. We will use factors such as mental illness, literacy, race, and
socioeconomic status to explain the research we find and how they lead to
the same or different childhood developments and affect each stage. Our
project plan will use a Prezi. Each new slide of the Prezi will explain a
developmental stage. We will also include slides that explain the effects of
mental illness, literacy, race, and socioeconomic status on the development
of children. Lastly, we will include slides of solutions to these problems. Such
as medication, therapy, etc.
This plan is appropriate and effective for our topic because it will
analyze all aspects of child development as well as potential problems that
may occur with a child during their developmental years. The audience
should care about this topic and our research we present to the class
because this affects children as well as the future of our children we will have
one day. Our presentation will educate our audience with signs to look for in
children and offer solutions and aids to help people help children.

We will evenly distribute the work that comes along with this project.
We will meet in the library together every time we need to work on a part of
the project. We will also email parts of the project to each other if we cannot
work around both of our schedules. The first day that we work on this project
in class, October 26, we will have a good amount of our research already
done. We will use this time to further our research and begin on our Prezi
together. On November 16 in class we will have finished our research by this
date. We will spend this class time putting our research into our Prezi as well
as finding visuals to go along with our presentation. On November 28 we will
have the rough draft of our project completed and peer review with other
students in class. We will also take advantage of this time by practicing
presenting the project. We plan on ending our presentation with facts and
research on how child development impacts every single one of us and what
we can do as young adults to help children who struggle with developing. We
hope that everyone listening to our presentation will take away the message
that even though we are no longer children, we are still affected by the
development of children.
