Church of Christ (Holiness) USA Elects Florissant, Mo. Native as National President
JACKSON, Miss.- During the National Convention of the Church of Christ (Holiness) USA
-COCHUSA- held in Dallas, Texas, Bishop Lindsay Jones was elected as the National President of the
120 year old organization. A resident of Florissant, Mo., Jones serves as the Presiding Bishop of the
Northcentral Diocese, which includes the states of Missouri, Colorado, Tennessee, Nebraska, Kansas, and
Kentucky.
In his new role, Jones will oversee the execution and implementation of the administrative and financial
conduct of the denomination.
"During my term I expect to build upon the progress already achieved by prior national presidents,
effectively partner with national leaders who share similar responsibilities, and promote revitalization and
growth within the denomination," Jones says.
Jones has more than 30 years of leadership experience within COCHUSA. He has served on the Board of
Bishops as First and Second Vice President and also served as Presiding Bishop of the Eastern Diocese - a
region consisting of the District of Columbia and the states of Delaware, New York and Virginia.
Jones expects significant development and progression for the denomination of approximately 13,000
members.
"COCHUSA is blessed with a tremendous number of highly-gifted and committed leadership. I expect for
us to work together as a team of denominational leaders and to go into all the world and make disciples of
Christ while loving the Lord with all of our heart, soul, and mind," says Jones.
In addition to his denominational leadership, Jones currently serves as President of the Lawrence A.
Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel in Kansas City, Mo.; is a member of the National Funeral Directors and
Morticians Association, the worlds largest and oldest African American funeral directors association; and
is a senior consultant for New Church Specialties, a national ministry consulting firm. He has three adult
children with his wife, Santa C. Conerly.
