- Tobacco is an agricultural crop that is used in cigarettes. Its a leaf grown in the United
States, it was brought by Native Americans before the Europeans came from England.

2. How Nicotine works in the brain, name the anandamide system.


- It causes to release neurotransmitters and hormones that affect your mood, appetite, and
memory. It mainly raises the levels of dopamine in the brain which is the reason for these
feelings.

3. List 5 acute effects.


- Persistent coughing
- Increased heart rate
- Increased blood pressure
- Heartburns
- Light headed

- Chronic cough
- Lung cancer
- Vision Problems

5. What are some of the side effects of second hand smoking? Explain
- You can still get effected by second hand smoking. It can cause heart disease and lung
cancer to non-smokers. Childrens lung process is slowed down by inhaling the smoke in the air.

6. Name 3 risks for smoking and pregnancy.


- Baby can be born too early.
- Smoking during or after pregnancy can cause Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
- Baby can die.

7. Why they say that tobacco smoking shortens life expectancy and what are the
causes, how many years?
- It gives you cancer, so obviously, it shortens a users life and are at risk of dying.

8. How many people die annually from tobacco smoking in the US, and the entire
world?
- U.S.A = 443,000 smokers
- The world = 5 million smokers

9. How much the addiction from smoking tobacco is going to cost you if you live
in Utah? And if you are from Alaska?
- Utah = $32,145
- Alaska = $43,993

10. Describe the types of cancer from smoking


- Lung Cancer
- Liver cancer
- Oral cavity
- Urinal cancer
- Stomach cancer
