Journal 1: Methamphetamine
Methamphetamine is a highly stimulant drug. It is an addicted drug that is cooked
up. The way meth works in the brain is by having it go into your system and activating
certain parts of the brain and it releases dopamine from neurotransmitter. What it does to
the body is that it can make a person age really bad. It can damage your mouth and the
chemical inhaled can damage the gums in your mouth. It has a possibility of making
someone lose weight. It can cause the user to have these Crank bugs that is part of the
hallucination. It is when a meth user thinks there are bugs crawling around their skin, then
the user will start picking of their skin violently that will leave nasty rashes. When meth is
being cooked up, it is really highly risky to be around these meth labs when they are in
process. Because they deal with highly flammable chemicals, there has been many cases
when a meth lab will blow up the whole neighborhood. Meth can make someone lose
control of themselves, and reality. It can cause the person to have hallucinations which is
called meth-induced psychosis. It can cause a user to have bad behavioral as an after effect.
There are many names for meth users such as tweakers, crackheads, and meth heads. A
good recommendation of learning more about this, is by watching the TV series breaking
bad. It is about a chemistry teacher who needs money so he cooks up meth to sell it and
gain money for his cancer treatment.
