All employees have an assigned work space or classroom. It is the expectation from the leadership team that all staff members will treat the space with respect and care. Classroom bulletin/display boards are expected to be covered and used to display student work, school matters, etc. Classroom displays are expected to reflect current learning outcomes, student behavior and community events [Commercial products to be limited as much as possible]. Posters and other teaching materials should be hung neatly and kept current. Staff are not permitted to change or modify (i.e. paint or wallpaper) the work space without prior approval from the leadership team. Money and valuables should not be left unattended in your workspace. In the event of workspace items damage/loss the staff member will bear the responsibility for replacement of any damaged/lost items if the staff member is found to be negligent or irresponsible. 10. Common Planning Time Teachers are expected to utilize common planning time as a collective/grade level effort to collaborate with lesson planning, student progress, and other school initiatives. Lesson plans are expected to explicitly showcase the content to be taught and covered on each lesson [HoFs are to propose a particular lesson plan format to the SLT. Some exceptions might be considered depending of subjects requirements]. Teachers with less than 24/30 [AMT/EMT] sections a week will be assigned to other work tasks such as class coverage, document translation or other specific duties and responsibilities as assigned by the leadership team. 11. Substitute Folders Classroom teachers [EMTs and AMTs] are responsible for creating substitute folders at the start of each term and the folders should remain current during the course of the school term. The substitute folder should be prepared and given to the HoF within the first week of term to be reviewed and then kept in classrooms upon request. Teachers are expected to ensure prepared materials support learning outcomes and appropriate for the students level [Students can work without help].
