Skills Tasks [Baseline tests] : Terms One Refined Term Two Re-test Term Three - Assessment
of Learning

Baseline Testing is done for Arabic, Islamic, English, Mathematics, Science and Specials.

For Arabic Language and English, Mathematics and Science, Baseline Testing is to be
carried out each trimester. Once at the beginning of Semester One, once at beginning of
Semester Two and again in the middle of Semester Three (see assessment timeline).

Running records are to be completed along with the baseline testing.

Writing Samples are to be assessed using a writing rubric that has been developed for
grades 1 to 5. Writing samples are done in conjunction with the baseline testing.

Baseline data is collated and recorded on the data collection sheets. This is to be completed
up to one week after the completion of the baseline testing.

Data Analysis
Student assessment results are rich data that can tell the story about our students attainment and progress.
GAP Analysis Cycle is an integral part of our assessment policy as to be able to monitor and track our
students performance. Therefore,
Data from the Skills Based Assessments [Baseline tests], School Based Assessments and EMSA is
used to identify GAPs in learning and targets will be set accordingly across grades throughout the
school [See GAP Analysis Diagram below].
Analyzed data is used to identify good teaching practices and targets will be set to allow
opportunities for sharing those practices across the school.
