Band 10-20-30 Year Plan

80 Classes (77 mins) over 16 Weeks

Course Information : This course runs from Monday to Friday each week from 12:21-1:38f or
sixteen weeks. This course will meet the requirements of the High School Music program of
studies. Since this is a performance based class much of the time will be playing/practicing
pieces of music to prepare for concerts. Evaluations and assessments will fall into place spirally
as the music curriculum often does. Because the course runs spirally I have not included lesson
overviews within my Unit Plans. This is because there will be a lot of dependance on how the
repertoire is coming and that the assessments will take place at varying points throughout the
semester.
Course Objective: The objectives of this course are for students to become balanced well
rounded musicians whom have the opportunity to learn theoretical knowledge and use it in a
practical way. Students will become knowledgable in the elements of performance, aural
training, historical knowledge, range, articulation, technique and theory.
