December 11th - 3rd Sunday of Advent

The Signs of Salvation

Isaiah describes the fulfillment of human longing.

(Is 35)
A call for patient waiting. (Jas 5)
Jesus fulfills Isaiahs promises. (Mt 11)
Last summer many of us were
inspired by the athletes who participated in the Olympic Games in
Rio de Janeiro. The Olympians are
the best in the world at what they
do. They swim faster, jump higher
and lift more than anyone in the
world.
In a similar way, Jesus praised
John the Baptist as being the best in the world, saying: There has been none greater than John the
Baptist. We admire John for having spent his life
announcing Jesus. And even more, he gave his life,
dying as a martyr for his faith.
Jesus surprises us all by making a startling comparison: Yet the least in the kingdom of heaven is
greater than he.
- Dc Dick Folger

Church Basement
$ for $ Campaign

So youve heard it in the

announcements for 2
weeks now - still not sure what it is? We have a
generous benefactor from our parish who is willing
to match $ for $ all donations received between
now and Christmas in the Gift Envelope found in
the pews to a maximum of $10,000.
This is especially important now because we plan
to start work on the basement in January to bring it
to a point where it is usable for various activities. If
you would rather make a donation in honor of a
loved one, those cards are available at the office.
Lets make this happen!

BINGO

Come out and join our community and fellow

parishioners at our weekly bingo. Loads of fun,
$1000 in prizes weekly! Thursdays at 11 a.m. at
the Canadian Legion on King St. in Beamsville.
Lunch is available...free coffee! Hope to see you
there!

Ritas Angel Wishes

We hope you enjoyed shopping for your

Christmas Angel. Please attach the profile card to the gift and return to the
church before Dec 15. Gifts may be left
under the table in the foyer of the church.
Thank you for sponsoring a child.
