Goals: You must complete four (4) computer malfunction exercises to obtain full credit.
You will troubleshoot the malfunctioning computer to identify and resolve boot errors,
using the troubleshooting techniques you have learned this semester. You will identify
the Cause and provide a resolution to each error in addition state whether it is a Boot
Error, Startup Error, or Operating System Load Error. This will be done in the
following manner:
1. There are three (3) malfunctions listed with several symptoms. The listed
symptoms are related to one malfunction area only.
2. Review each symptom and list the Probable Cause and Suggested Solution in
the table below.
3. Type your response for each Probable Cause and Suggested Solution in
the appropriate column in bullet format in the table on the following page.
The numbers you see in each table row Cell indicate the total Probable
Causes and Suggested Solution.
4. To provide you with a direction, the first malfunction has been completed for you
with two symptoms, probable cause, and suggested solution. Complete the
remaining parts of Boot Error and 2 remaining booting errors.
