In 1968, period under the colonial rule of the British, the British announced its
decision to terminate its treaty relationship and their protection of the sheikhdoms (Dubai,
Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujaira, Ajman, Umm al-Quwain and Ras al-Khaima), as well as Qatar
and Bahrain. These nine parties attempted to unite with each other by the mid 1971, but they
were unable to agree on terms, because of which Qatar and Bahrain decided to separate
and form its independent state in August-September 1971. In 1972, all the seven states
joined the union called the United Arab Emirates.
The political system of UAE is the federation of monarchies.
Each emirate is govern by the system of absolute monarch, and together they join the
Fedaral Supreme Council. One of the monarch will be selected as the president of UAE,
which is basically the ruler of the country. The official religion is islam and the official
language is Arabic. UAE is home to the worlds seventh largest oil reserve.
Hatta - Hatta is a town in Dubai. It protrays the traditional mountainous rural life as well of the
prototypes, models, documents and arts for various aspects of traditional lifes in the region. There are
also several frond buildings and a mosjid. In addition, the visitor will be able to view the traditional
weapons, including rifles, swords, daggers, guns and cannons as well as household materials. The
sculptures, made in real-world scale, provide a image of the various cultural aspects of social life in old
Hatta, relating to the traditional professions and manufacturers, agriculture, education, marriage
customs, banquets, coffee drinking habits, popular folklore, games, songs, chants and folk dances, etc.

Artificial island - The next place that we are visiting is called the world. The world is
a group of man made island within the Persian gulf. The group of islands represents each of
the continent, altogether they form the globe. Only some of the islands within the world is
occupied. Other further constructions in the world archipelago is still in the planning stage.
Moreover, the authority had planned to expand the world by using the project of the
universe. The universe project is the project planned to build more man made archipelago
that represents the milky way around the existing the world archipelago.
- the second one that we are visiting is palm jumeirah. Palm jumeira is the worlds first
man made archipelago. We will stay at the atlantis palm hotel that is on this island. In
addition to palm jumeira, there is another two palms that are under construction,
palm jebel ali and palm deira.
From the constructions of these archipelogos, dubai has been in high debt and many of the
projects was on hiatus since the economic problems.
As Ive said, we will stay at atlantis the palm hotel, the most luxurious hotel on the worlds
first man made island. We provided you with two of the best suite here, the royal bridge suite
and the underwater suite.
-------------------------end of D-1 --------------------------Today we will visit Burj Khalifa, the tallest building and free standing structure in the
world. With the height of more than 828 meters from the ground break the worlds record of
the last tallest building in that time; the Taipei 101 in Taiwan for about 300 meters, the
building offers many observatory sites. We will proceed to burj khalifa sky, the highest and
most luxurious observatory site within the building. At the height of 555 meters above the
ground, burj khalifa sky is one of the iconic destination of Dubai.

We will have lunch at al nafoorah, a Lebanese restaurant. The word al nafoorah

came from an Arabic word for fountain. The location of the restaurant along with the
atmosphere makes a perfect place to enjoy quit lunch or dinner, no wonder it was the
favorite restaurant of the vice president and prime minister of UAE, his highness sheikh
mohammed bin rashid al maktoum. He was first elected as the vice president by the
supreme court, following the death of his brother. Not long after, he was nominated as the
prime minister by the president of UAE. He is also the emir (a title of Muslim (mainly Arab)
rulers) of Dubai. His most outstanding achievement was the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al
Maktoum Foundation, which promotes human development through knowledge and
education.
The first dish is called shawarma, an arabic word meaning to turn. Shawarmas
origin could be traced back to Turkey where it was called ervime (cer- ve- meh).
Shawarma is known widely as an arabic fast food. I t normally is a sandwich-like wrap
made of grilled lamb, chicken, beef, turkey and other meat varieties. As UAE official
religion is Islam, pork is forbidden.
Just like many other arabic food, the signature taste of shawarma come from the
spices used to marinate the meat.
The next dish is kebab. Kebab is also an arabic term, meaning roasted meat. The
origin of kebab also can be traced back to turkey. You might have heard about this dish
before because its quite popular. It is widely known throughout the middle east. Thr kind of
kebab that we are having today is called shish kebab which means meat on a skewer.
The major contributor of this dish is also the spices.
As you can see, the dishes that we presented all have the origin from turkey, but are
eaten widely and also known as an arabic dish since as we know, arabs were a part of the
ottoman empire before it collapsed. That had caused many of the arab cultures to be similar,
or even the same, to the turkish culture.
The next palce we will be visiting is the:
Majlis Ghorfat Um-Al Sheif
Majlis Ghorfat Um-Al Sheif is considered to be a special historical monument, known
for its remarkably unique traditional heritage. It was established in the year 1955, with the
purpose for summer relaxing for Sheikh Rashid Saeed Al Maktoum, who was the Vice
President and Prime minister of The UAE from 1958 to 1990, in the Jumeirah area, which
was famous for its calmness and tranquility along with its distance from the noise of the
crowdedness of the city.
A visit to this palce is an opportunity to experience the atmosphere of Dubais ruling
councils where they held debates, discussions and decision making, which have contributed
to what Dubai achieved in the fields of urbanisation and leadership, and a tradition to which
Dubai owes its path to modern development.

Now, lets discover more about markets in Dubai

Souk = traditional market

Spice souk
Spice souk is known as the largest spice market and the most popular in Dubai,
located in Deira area of Dubai. As you go into the market, you will find bags of spices, herbs,
incense and traditional medical products stacked outside each store. In addition, several
household, artifacts, and textiles are also sold in the spice souk. It would be fun and
enjoyable to walk, scent the aroma and learn about their different culture and spices.
Another famous market place is the:
Gold souk
As you know that spice souk is a spice market, gold souk is a place where you can
buy gold. Since Dubai is known for one of the most famous and most luxurious gulf cities,
there are no gold that you cannot buy here. You can also find every styles of jewelleries from
Western to traditional Indian. Gold souk is located also in Deira area of Dubai, neighboring
the spice souk. . Gold souk is the largest souk of all among kinds of souks like spice,
perfume or textile.
If any one of you are wondering, Deira is a place where traditions and necessities
meet."If you can't find it in Deira, you will never find it anywhere else." it was a major link in the
world's historic trade routes.

The final destination for today and for the whole Dubai trip is the:
Burj al arab
This will be our last overnight stay in Dubai, Burj al arab, often voted the worlds most
luxurious hotel and called a 7 star hotel, resembles a distinctive sail-shaped structure, which
is a symbol of modern Dubai. Built on a triangular man-made island, the building is 321
metres tall, making the fourth tallest hotel int he world. The Burj Al Arab sets a new standard
for hospitality superlatives, which includes underwater aquarium restaurant that you reach
through a simulated submarine voyage.

-------------------------end of day2-------------------------

For today, we will go to Abu dhabi, the capital of UAE. The monarch of abu dahbi is
the president of UAE, his highness shiekh khalifa bin zayed al nahyan. He is the second
president of UAE and the 16th ruler of abu dhabi, the largest of the seven emirates. He had
initiated to evolve the nomination system for member of the federal national council, which is
the first step to direct elections in UAE.

Our only program here in Abudhabi is to visit the ferrari world. Ferrari world had its grand
opening in 2010, in tribute to Ferraris passion, performance, and innovation. There are a
broad variety attractions that ferrari world house; from the worlds fastest roller coaster to

advance racing simulators, which made ferrari world one of the most recommended tourist
attractions within the middle east.

On our way back, I wanted to ask everybody something. Have you ever heard of the arab
spring? Arab spring is a series of anti-government uprising and armed rebellions within the
middle east area in 2011. Like other countries, some of the citizens are trying to call for their
rights and go against the government. In response, the government had blocked websites
that called for constitutional monarchy and had jailed five activist who had insulted the
president, vice-president, and the crown prince of bu Dhabi, known as the UE five. During
that period, there are government supporters gather in front of the federal supreme court,
which is on our right, to declare their support to the government, saying that the majilis (open
office for hearing) is enough for them. The demonstration in front of the court is a rare
happening in UAE. However, the arab spring itself never reaches the UAE due to the strong
wealth shield which prevent any economy problem, which is one of the major factors that led
to the spring arab.
However, UAE is a country with less to none major political event, so the uprising in 2011 is
extremely rare. (MOstly Bcuz ppl are afraid of the power of the sheikhs lololol)
We will stay at suite room at jumeirah at etihad towers hotel for the night. Please make sure
to bring all of your belongings with you tommorow since were going to depart to Sharjah
tomorrow night.
------------------------End of day 3-----------------------Our first destination for today is the aldar headquarters. Aldar headquarter building is
arabias first circular building. And it was awarded as best futuristic design in 2008.
Technically, it isnt a tourist attraction, but its one of the most beautiful architecture that is
worth coming to.
Our next destination is the sheik zayed grand mosque, which is one of the worlds largest
mosque. It features 82 domes, 24k gold chandeliers and the worlds largest hand knotted
carpet. The mosque itself is built from white Greek marble and includes many precious
stones such as lapiz lazuli, jasper, amethyst, and mother of pearl. The design refers to the
ottoman, mamluk and farimid style, and also include innovative and contemporary elements.
The first ceremony of the mosque is the funeral of shiekh zayed, the first president of UAE
who was also buried within the site. Now that we are going to enter, are there anyone that is
not dressed accordingly to the dress code? The mosque requires you to wear long skitrs or
trousers and long sleeved shirts and headscarft for women. For the ones that is not dressed
properly, Ill go and borrow the abbeyya and kanduras for you. Also, please dont interrupt or
take pictures of the ones who are in prayer.
Our final destination in abu dhabi is the emirates national auto museum. It holds the private
car collection of shiekh hamad bin hamdan al nayah, also known as the rainbow sheikh, a
member of the ruling family of abu dhabi and a former diplomat and army. His other name
was from the fact that he had bought 7 mercedes 500 ELs, painted in each color of rainbow
for the use in each day of the week.

-------------------------end of day 4------------------------Good morning and welcome to Sharjah, an emirate state led by shiekh sultan bin
mohammad al qasimi. Today, our program is to visit 2 museums here in shajah.
First one is the Sharjah museum of islamic civilization. This museum was opened in 2008. It
is composed of seven galleries that displays its permanent collection. It holds thousands of
rare and important islamic artifacts. You can learn about islamic beliefs, science, dicoveries
and culture, and islamic art here in the museum.
The last program here in sharjah is to see the Sharjah arts museum. This museum was
opened in 1997. It exhibits variety of collections and temporary exhibitions held by the
museum. It is one of the largest art museum within the gulf region. With the work of
international reknown artist, Sharjah arts museum is one of the best tourist attractions here
in sharjah.
-first work = Restrospective by El Salahi (sudanese artist)

We hope you had a great time here in Sharjah. We will stay at the club executive suite of
Sheraton Sharjah Beach Resort & Spa for the night. Please ready yourselves for tomorrows
flight back to Dubai. See you tomorrow.
--------------------------------------------------------End of day 5----------------------------------------------Today we will have our last meal at one of the best restaurants in Dubai called Ewaan. The
first dish is called tabouleh. Tabouleh came from the arabic word tabil meaning to spice . It
is originated from Lebanon and Syria and is a part of arab food culture. The next dish is
called grilled halloumi. Halloumi has its origin in the B
eduin tribes of the Middle East and is
one of the most popular food within the arab food culture. Last but not least, we have halva as
our desert. the name Halva is derieved from the arabic word halwa, which means sweets. Its
origin is still unknown, but people believes that the Halva is a middle eastern sweet. It is one of
the most well known sweets here in UAE. As you can see, the food here comes from various
origins, mostly within the area that used to be the Ottoman empire. The transfer of food culture
might happen during the ottoman empire since basically, everyone lives together in one area
would cause a transfer to happen
