Praise God for the students He called to go on summer missions and for the fruit of their labor! Pray for our student leaders and staff team during this crucial time in the school year as we trust the Lord and reach out to freshmen and students at UNC.
UNC students and staff at the Fall Launch Retreat
After many students dispersed for
the summer to distant corners of the world on mission trips, this past weekend we came back together with some student leaders in Cru to begin planning and dreaming about what the Lord might do this year in students lives at UNC. While on our retreat we heard many incredible stories about how the Lord worked in peoples lives all over the globe, but one of my favorites was from a student named Jenai. Unfortunately, I dont have enough room to share with you all of Jenais story, but you can read the rest at hullahfamily.weebly.com. While Jenai was in India she met a nursing student who well call Anika. As Jenai was asking her about her interests and trying to get to know her a little, Anika interrupted her by reaching out and touching Jenais shoulder. She said, Are you a Christian? Jenai hadnt mentioned anything about spiritual things at this point and was surprised. She responded, Yes, but what made you think that? Anika then told her about how she had heard the name of Jesus years ago and knew that Christians prayed to Jesus. She had prayed to Him before and felt a peace that shed never felt before or since, except for now as she was talking to Jenai. I hope that you can read the rest on our blog.
Pray for Anika and that she chooses to
follow Jesus despite the challenges that she may face in her culture.
As I (Brett) sat down to write this
letter to you, I received this text from Ben, a recent graduate who was a part of Cru at UNC, I just wanted to say thank you for being
Brett helped guide students at the retreat through
Gods Word, casting vision, and planning. the guy who initiated conversations with me, who pursued me, and invited me to a lot of different things. I still remember so vividly when I came to your freshmen guys community group That was a night that shaped my college career and Im so thankful for it. Without you sacrificing time, money, and convenience for me, I wouldnt be the man I am today. As I was encouraged to read his words, I knew that I couldnt have sacrificed any of those things if it werent for each one of you who supports us in this mission. As we prepare for a busy next three weeks of pursuing students at this crucial time in their lives, please keep us in your prayers. You can also view our calendar of events on our blog.
Our hearts fill with gratitude as we remember your
sacrifice for the Gospel.
