Cho-Ku-Rei
According to many traditional teachers the Reiki symbols are sacred and
therefore secret and should only be seen by insiders, meaning Reiki practitioners
second degree and Reiki masters. As described above, the visibility of these
symbols can only add to their power; this is knowledge from magick. Besides, in
Japan these symbols show up on daily articles of use. (I once meditated on these
symbols and got a vision of an ordinary Japanese street-scene, as if I should
know that healing yourself and your life should be a very common activity and an
integrated part of everyone's life.) In the spirit of this Age of Aquarius many
secrets, occult and societal, are revealed now to give as many persons as
possible entrance to their birthright: self-empowerment, self-mastery, inner
balance, peace and happiness. The idea of someone being of more importance,
higher standard or 'special' because of having more, secret knowledge, is an
outdated ego thing. To get a taste of what you can do with it I herewith present
you the four symbols with their meaning:
amount of light you call in with Cho Ku Rei dispels or keeps away negativity. And
it seals in light energy when drawn at the end of a healing.
Sometimes the Cho Ku Rei is drawn opposite with the spiral clockwise; this is a
matter of preference. The symbol works with either way of drawing.
Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen - The Distance and Mental Symbol
First, it sends Reiki through space and thus is used in all distant healing.
Second, it sends Reiki through time and thus is used in all past and future
life healings.
Third, it works primarily on the mental body (the conscious rather than the
unconscious mind)
Forth, it a door to the Akashic Records and thus used for identifying and
releasing Karmic debts
Sei-He-Ki
Sei = I point
He = the Bow, Arrow to
Ki = Life-force, Light, Awareness
The Sei-He-Ki is perhaps used for more purposes and more situations than any
other Reiki symbol. In addition to being used in nearly every conceivable
healing situation, which might possibly include an emotional component, Sei-HeKi is used for cleansing and purification, protection, to clear negative energy, to
release spirit attachments and in distant healing. It can be used to purify food
and medications, and, when used with Cho-Ko-Rei, can clear crystals and boost
the healing properties of medicine. Sei-He-Ki useful in treating addictions to
reduce or eliminate cravings. And it can be used to reduce negative behaviours
and attitudes rooted in current life situations. For example, it can often help
smooth the path of troubled teens.
Sei-He-Ki's powerful cleansing and protection abilities make it ideal for cleaning
and blessing individual rooms and complete homes and buildings. Use it both to
clear locales of the negative energies resulting for current life arguments and
events as well as those from the long agos, including the release of spirits and
thought creatures which have become attached to places and things.
Counsellors, for example, can use it to clear their counselling rooms after every
session.
Sei-He-Ki can also be used to clear energy blockages, release sprit attachments
and to repair tears in the aura.
The healing focus of the Sei-He-Ki is on the emotional body.
To the left you see the traditional Dai Ko Myo and to the right the complete
different, modern version of it.
The traditional Japanese form is given by Mikao Usui. I don't know what the
origins of the modern spiral are; it has been channeled that this 'new' Dai Ko Myo
fits better into the vibrations of the training of this time. Both very powerful, it
seems a matter of preference which one you choose to work with. Dai Ko Myo
means Great Shining Light. As Aleister Crowley in another place states: "Every
man and every woman is a star". Through the master initiation you'll reach a
strong connection with Spirit, Source, Higher Self, the divine light which nurtures
itself and wishes to spread to nurture others.
The Dai Ko Myo is the strongest Reiki symbol and it can replace the others. An
exception forms distance work where you, next to the Dai Ko Myo, also have to
work with the distance symbol Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen. Once you have been
attuned to this symbol it is strongly advised to use it with all your Reiki works.
Your energy work will receive an extra boost and you constantly draw this strong
energy through your energetic system. The Dai Ko Myo is the symbol which
transmits the Reiki initiations.
RAKU
Pronounced Ra-koo
This symbol is used in the Master level of Reiki in the attunement process. It is
used to seal the attunement process by closing the chakras of the student and to
ground the student. It also plays a part in seperating the energies of the student
and that of the master after the attunement has been completed thus ending the
attunement process.
I have also used this symbol successfully in the break down of kidney stones.
Using the Raku as a "laser" by focusing the energy on a specific spot or area. Be
sure you know what you are doing if you plan on using the Raku symbol in this
way. Breaking down a blood clot can have the clot travel to the client's lungs or
brain and kill them. If you are unsure of how to use this symbol then don't use the
symbol at all or ask the advice of a seasoned Reiki master.
Halu is the symbol of truth, love, and beauty. Halu is used to disperse all the
negative elements inside a person's body, mind, and spirit.
It can restore harmony and balance in a person's life.
Harth
Rama
Rama may mean God or Ram. However, its main symbolism is joy. It is the link to
the Earth energy and can clear all the six chakras from the forehead down.
The Rama can create or restore a person's determination and revive his chi.
Zonar
Gnosa
Gnosa pertains to the spiritual and mystical knowledge obtained from God. It is
the symbol used to release a person's higher self. It can also be used for better
communication.
On a deeper level, it is the one that lifts a person's consciousness to create a
direct connection with the Creator.
Kriya
Kriya pertains to balance. This is the symbol for healing the entire human race. It
can also balance energy, raise awareness, and transform one's thoughts into
actions. Manifest and heal self, others, and the Earth.
Iava
Iava is a balancer. It harmonizes all four elements such as the Earth, Water,
Wind, and Fire. It removes illusions, lies, and pretenses. It can also help heal the
entire Earth.
Shanty
Shanty signifies peace. It is used to heal the past in order to welcome the
present.
This symbol is used to free a person from the clutches of the past. It can
dissipate pain, fear, and anger.
The Fire Serpent is used in the beginning of the attunement process. It is drawn
down the back of the client and is used to open the chakras.
I have used this symbol in opening the chakras of my clients when doing chakra
balancing and toning healing sessions. When finished you just retrace the
symbol from the bottom up to close the chakras.
Dumo or Tibetan Master Symbol
pattern that the spirals suggest. Angel Wings is used in attunements and
treatments to "seal in" the energy. The feel of this symbol is remarkable, and has
both a light and loving feel and a heavy spiral all at once.
When using Angel Wings in treatments first begin the treatment. Then use
whatever symbols are appropriate and then the AngelWings to work on
blockages and to help others (or yourself realize potential). It is a good symbol to
use after scanning to help break up problem areas and the seal in the healing
energy. Use AngelWings at the end of the treatment to seal in healing.
Meditating with energy is one of the best and surest ways to begin to understand
energy. The symbols are a key to understanding its use, and meditation with the
symbols strengthens the connection. The best way to work with symbol
meditation is to use the basic Infinity meditation that we use to start attunements
and then bring in the symbols you will use.
Start by clearing the mind. If any thoughts pop up, let them slip away and pay
them no mind. Visualize or see the living light energy above the head. See it
come down and surround your body. Let it cover around you completely and
cleanse and wash away all the negativity in your energy field, transmuting the
dark into light and grounding it into the earth.
Now see the light enter the crown and move through the head and into the
heart. Breath in the energy and let it fill you, again cleansing and transmuting all
that is not light and all that is not in your highest good into light. Now see the
infinity in the light above the crown. See it and the let it move into the head and
into the heart. Stay with this and begin to breath in the light and exhale out that
which is not in your highest good. The light transmutes that which is not in your
highest good into light.
Now see the angel wings symbol above you. See it enter the crown and into the
heart. Feel the way the energy moves in the symbol. Do not have any
expectations about the symbol, simply allow it to be with you. Consistent
practice will clarify the symbols intent and suggest ever more uses for it.
Using Angel Wings
Use angel wings in healing any time you feel or sense a blockage and let the
spiral dissolve it. For those who have emotional issues that are "stuck", drawing
the Sei Hei Ki, and then the angel wings, and then the Sei Hei Ki can help
release and heal it.
Another use is called the "Writing Release". It is like journaling, and you write
down an area that you are stuck on. This could be a difficult relationship,
problem with a friend, or something related to work, or other thing). Draw the
angel wings symbol over it. Draw the infinity over it, and place your hands on the
paper and send Seichim to the issue. This helps to unblock the issue as well as
to help you realize your hidden innate potential and solve the issue.
High-Low-God
This symbol is used to Align the higher, lower and God selves of an individual so
that they all work together for the highest good of the individual. Notice that the
alignment reflects a trinity, or tripartite structure that is so common in most
spiritual systems.
The Alignment is verticle. It flows from the Infinite, through us and into the earth.
We become the infinity as the different aspects of our nature are brought into
alignment.
The symbol is called the "High/Low/God" Symbol. It represents this flow of
energy from the divine, through our "selves". The "High" self, or "Higher Self" is
often thought of as the soul. It is our highest level of being and closest to the
divine. The "Low" self is the ego. It is under our conscious control and is
responsible for making the choices that we do in life. The ego is an amalgam of
all our experiences, beliefs, conditionings and as such often has moved away
from the divine order and soul order. We become trapped in our beliefs and
conditionings that prevent us from seeing reality as it truly *is* and move farther
and farther from the divine order. This order is what the Taoists call the Tao or
"the way".
We have different aspects of ourselves. We have physical, emotional and
spiritual needs. This symbol helps us cleanse and let go of the things that
prevent us from seeing things are they are, not as we want them to be. When we
are in alignment with the divine order we experience harmony in our lives.
This Facet is thought to be a very important cleanse and can bring about big
changes in one's life. Letting go of conditionings is never easy and the cleanse
can be difficult for some. It is not an overwhelming process, but it will bring to the
fore ideas and conditionings you have that you may need to address as you
come more into focus with your life's plan and mission.
Meditations - Meditation using High/Low/God Symbol and Infinity to experience
an alignment of ourselves and union of our nature.
Begin by doing the Seichim Infinity Meditation. See the living light energy above
and see it come around you. Allow it to flow around your body and begin to
cleanse and energize the fields of energy around you and cleanse and energize
the aura. Breath in the light into the lungs. From there see the light energy move
into the heart, and then spread throughout the whole body. See and know that
the living light energy removes all that is not in your highest good and transmutes
it into light. See the infinity sign above the crown and let the infinity flow into the
crown and then breath it down into the heart. Let the light fill and energize you
completely.
Place you hands in the namaste position before the heart. Now focus on the
high/low/God. See it's shape and see the infinity. Breath in the light and love.
Feel the alignment, from the infinite, the divine through us to earth. We are
healed in oneness in our physical, emotional and spiritual sleves. Breath in the
balance of the light, knowing that these parts of you are being brought into
balance and harmony. Focus on the energy flowing in and bringing balance to all
parts of your body and mind.
Continue this for a time. You may wish to bring in the other symbols as well.
Receive perfect love, joy and peace to fill you. When you are ready, give thanks
and gratitude for the gift shared you, and slowly bring yourself back up to normal
consciousness.
Ift Chei; eeftchay; EeeeeftChay; eeeeftchay
The Eeef Tchay Symbol is used to open the third Eye, and give one Endless
Inner Sight. It allows you to see through the veils of illusion and see things as
they really are. It is also used to enhance psychic sight.
This symbol represents the Eye of Horus. It is the awakening and opening of the
third eye and the awareness of the third eye. Some schools teach that the third
eye (or pituatary) actually swells and bursts any calcification or covering when it
is fully open and working.
With the Eeef Tchay, we are able to see what needs healed. This is not
necessarily with the eyes but with the third eye. In Reiki Ryoho this skill is called
"Reiji. We also find our discernment, the ability to know spiritually increases.
Everything in creation seeks balance. In Chinese mythology is was said that from
the Tao came the Yin and the Yang, and from the Yin and Yang came the 10,000
things (i.e., all creation). Yin and Yang represent balance, but something more.
Everything contains within it the essence of its opposite. This symbol represents
balance. The symbol is like a flower, with two hearts on each side. All is duality.
The symbol expresses a unification of the parts of ourselves that are dual in
nature.
This symbol represents and is used to balance the Masculine and Feminine
energies in a person. Carl Gustov Jung, the eminent psychologist discussed at
length the "anima" and "animus", the male and female aspects of all beings. By
bringing them into balance the person feels a sense of wholeness, unity and
completion. This male female balance is expressed in most religions. The Yin
and Yang express both this duality and the idea that even a polar opposite
contains some of the essence of its opposite. The Hebrew name for God,
represented by IHVI (Yod Heh Vau Heh) is a blend of Masculine and Feminine.
This symbol helps us to find balance in ourselves. Some of us are too yin and
others too yang, too masculine or too feminine. Although the symbol is called
"male-female balance", it refers to all the dualities that we are and experience.
With balance comes emotional integration. This is an acceptance of the diverse
parts of who we are. What also comes is freedom. We free ourselves from the
patterned conditionings and ways of acting that are out of balance. In this way we
respond out of love in situations, not react out of preprogrammed conditioning
that is out of balance.
The attunement brings the aspect of the energy into us, it increases our
awareness of balance and the awareness to do so. However, it is not magic and
does not remove the work that must accompany this. The Meditation with the
symbol helps increase the awareness and action.
Using the symbol in healing is just like using any other symbol. Good areas to
treat are the heart, and brain or any area that you intuitively feel will help. Using
this aspect of the energy helps to bring balance to them.
This symbol is also called by other names in other seichim styles. In one it is
called the shining everlasting flower of enlightenment. It is the flower of the heart.
By moving from duality we experience the oneness and experience satori or a
onepoint connection with the all, the at-one-ment.
Meditations - Meditation using Male-Female balance Symbol and Infinity to
experience balance and union of our nature and infinity.
Now focus on the
male-female balance symbol. See the symetry of its shape, the hearts of love on
its sides. Breath in the balance of the light, knowing that these parts of you are
being brought into balance and harmony. Focus on the energy flowing in and
bringing balance to all parts of your body and mind. Continue this for a time. You
may wish to bring in the other symbols as well. When you are ready, give thanks
and gratitude for the gift shared you, and slowly bring yourself back up to normal
consciousness.

both hands at same time.
Auric Egg
This Reiki Symbol, the Auric Egg, with a single object within a single loop, is the
simplest of the gatherer class of symbols. It is also one of the more powerful.
It serves several purposes. First, as a diagnostic, it indicates extreme separation,
such as might be the case with an autistic child or a comatose person. It may
also be indicative of a problem situation or source which which is well entrenched
and likely to take multiple sessions to work though.
It can be used to strengthen personal boundaries where they are missing or
weak.
It can also be used as a type of shield. That is, when one wants to be
undisturbed, for example to study or meditate, this symbol will cause folk to
ignore you. It is also useful in situations where many strong and conflicting
emotions exist. Use it to avoid getting caught up in panic and/or mob hysteria.
The primary healing focus of this symbol is the mental body.
Barred Cho-Ku-Rei
The Barred Cho-Ku-Rei appeared while healing a stone bruised heel. The
symbol appeared and entered the heel at the point of injury. The healing was
instantaneous!
It is unknown if this symbol is for bruises generally, feet generally or some other,
more obscure, purpose. I encourage you to try it and report your experiences.
Please note the spiral is counter-clockwise, but with the handle to the right. This
is a different Cho-Ku-Rei from the Cho-Ku-Rei used by either Essential Reiki and
Traditional Reiki.
Gatherer
Gatherer is almost always seen in motion. The string undulating much like a
rope floating on water and the spheres (or other symbols) floating (bobbing)
within the loops. The colours can vary considerably.
Severer
Severer breaks, cuts, and severs relationships among people, karma, and
dimensions. It may be capable of severing relationships among other classes of
items as well.
Severer is primarily used to ease the transitions of birth and death, making both
less difficult and or less painful. However, it can also be used to break the
karmic ties between people, particularly people currently within a family
relationship. It can help parents release their children to the world, and it can
help in cases of divorce, child custody problems, and similar situations where
there is great difficulty in 'letting go' by one or more of the various parties.
In action severer appears to fly through inner space spinning like a saw blade,
cutting the cords of relationship. (See Gatherer)
Severer's colour is best described as one of the unearthly ones.
Severer is definitely a multi-dimensional symbol.
Scrubber
crubber purifies the various etheric bodies, but particularly the light body. It
appears to scrub and clean away all darkness, leaving the light body a lustrous
golden colour.
In appearance, each ribbon is quite long, six to eighth feet, and in constant
motion, giving the appearance of dark metallic mylar strips moving in a very
gentle breeze. The colours are unearthly, shimmering, mostly dark to the eyes,
but with shining highlights.
In action the ribbons enter via the crown and flow through the entire body, exiting
through the hands, feet and root chakra.
This is a very high level Reiki symbol not yet fully understood in its purpose or
effects.
Strand of Spirals
This symbol appeared while treating a stiff neck and painful upper back. The
difficulty was on the left side of the neck and back. A column consisting of
hundreds of small, dime size spirals, both clockwise and counterclockwise in
orientation, appeared and entered the body just to the left of the spine where the
spine and skull meet. The spirals continued down the left side of the body, finally
disappearing at the base of the spine.
Initially,e.g., at the time of treatment, about every 40 th or 50th spiral entered on the
right side of the spine instead of the left, and travelled down the right side of the
spine, again disappearing at the base of the spine.
Healing was not instantaneous. However the strand of spirals continued to
appear and flow down the sides of spine spontaneously for over a week, even
though no additional treatment was given. As time passed, an increasing number
of spirals moved to the right side of the spine. When healing was complete, just
before the spirals disappeared, about 50% of the spirals were moving alone each
side of the spine.
While the spirals were in a distinct column or strand, the column was not rigid,
but fluid. Individual spirals were not in close alignment and each spiral had it own
motion. Some tilted along various axis, some rotated, although very slowly. The
general appearance was relaxed and all motion leisurely.
The healing focus of The Strand of Spirals appears to be the physical body. It has
the feel of addressing alignment problems, and thus might be useful not only with
spinal problems, but with broken bones, dislocated joints and similar difficuties.
