Lunar Base
Abstract
The overarching problem that is, and has been occurring in the world today is
overpopulation. Because of the drastic increase in our population over the past handful of
years and for estimates in the future years to come, the natural resources present have been
declining. The solution we are providing will not only help with overpopulation, but might
lead us to new discoveries of resources on the Moon. The intended goal is to create a whole
new population on our very own Moon. Once the presets and the end goals are met, our
world will be greatly benefited. Along with this, we will be able to use the lunar base as a
stopping point, or a refueling stop, to Mars.
If the lunar base is to be created, it will help decrease the population, which is the
entire goal of the innovation. The lunar base is the stepping stone for a larger and morebenefited project. In other words, this will be just the start to creating a Moon population.
Once the first lunar base is operational, we will continuously increase the population and the
amount of shelter on the Moon. Along with this, the people/workers on the lunar base will
send back important resources, which might be found. We will need many workers for this
project, which is why we are teaming up with NASA.. As we know that space travel alone is
expensive, the main budget for the lunar base will be approximately $357 million. This base
will lead some of Earths population to live on the Moon for various reasons and will run
smoother with a decrease in people and an increase in resources.

The creation of this lunar base could be the defining factor for the Earth to be able to
sustain human life. This is an extremely important considering the advancements in civil life
and the consequences that might occur.

Need Explanation
The idea of space travel and furthering our knowledge of space is very important now
and especially in the future. As the population in the world continues to rise, we will start to
run out of resources. The demand for natural resources continues to grow because of
technological advancements. Even though natural resources aren't the only thing being
affected by overpopulation, these resources are a necessity in our daily lives. Fixing the
natural resource reduction from the increase in our population will benefit us greatly in the
years to come.
Every day, we get new lives in the world and put into our overall population, which
takes up more medicine, machinery, technology, and help for the people to survive and the
children to grow up. These forms of help in our everyday life are made from our resources
that we find and need. A Moon colony can help fix such a thing. This will produce not only a
start to reducing population on Earth, but by helping to provide resources from the Moon. By
reducing the population, the people on Earth will not have to worry about the depletion of
natural resources.
The world needs this innovation to come through because if this first step gets nailed
down effectively and cheap, then there will be great things accomplished. With the start of
building a lunar base, we can then later extend onto Mars. We cannot go straight to Mars as
the Moon will be a starting place for a space colony. This is, because the moon colony would
further help us in the future for refueling, restocking, and a checkpoint on the way to Mars.
Description of Innovation

Mitze, Sneed 3
In order for this feat to be met, many different things will have to be implemented into
the base. The reasons for the bases initial development is to solve Earths overpopulation.
With the base built, we can start a new generation on the Moon, which will, over time, have
the Earths population decrease and saving lots of resources. The lunar base will also be able
to further human existence if something unexpected happens on the Earth. To provide a
clearer example the bases initial goal is to solve Earths overpopulation problem. Although
the base may just be a five person house; it will help future generations know how to
construct more and more of the bases which will in turn help solve Earths population
problem. To help the overpopulation there must not only be a base but a plan to get people up
to the base. The best way to solve the overpopulation problem is to send large chunks of the
global population to the moon.
A large amount of change will happen because of the lunar base. A lot of Earths
natural resources will begin to replenish themselves along with new resources that can be
found on the Moon, and if expanded upon, other planets.. Also, wildlife species will have
more chances to become more widespread and will have less of a chance to become extinct.
With the resources replenishing, the world would be able to not only better sustain itself but
also humanity as well. After most of Earth's population is resettled it can begin healing and
replenishing resources. For example with humans vast amounts of ocean wildlife are
becoming endangered.Yet with a vast amount of people gone, that would in turn help the
reproduction rates of the endangered species and then they would be able to resurface back
into the world. The resources wont magically appear as well over a huge amount of time the
natural resources will begin to grow back and with the humans who stayed on Earth they will
be able to help that process. They would help by using what they already have to regrow
things again like forests and other various resources. After all is said and done the world
would be a much better place as it wouldve had time to heal and become prosperous again.

Budget

Falcon 9 reusable rocket by spaceX: $221 million

Workers (supplied by NASA): free
Food: $133 million
Advertisement: $2.61 million

Total = $356.61 million

We will raise this money by being partially funded by NASA and by raising it through
charity. The charity will gain money by asking the residents of the United States if they
would like to help out the innovation
