1- So the value in this situation is respecting others rights which is desirable

in the society and the related norm that support this value is the action of
standing in the queues instead of trying to get your food first.
2- a) the purpose of this researched is exploration of what is this, and what is
going on here, to learn more about them, if they live in community if they
live in tribes, what is their values and norms and their ritual.
b) ethnographic, because we need to be inside that society in order to
learn about them and to be able to highlight the qualitative aspects of
their social life.
c) survey will not work because we have so limited data that we dont
even would know how to prepare a questionnaire. Documentary will not
work since that again there is no secondary data or any document about
them that we can use
d) no, it cant be covert because in order to perform a covert ethnographic
research we need to act like an ordinary participant, which is simply
impossible because we do not know anything about them, thus we cannot
act ordinary (we dont know what ordinary is to them)
3- Hebert spencer: survival of the finest, so if there is poverty among the
society it shows that
those people who are poor are weak humans.
Karl max: its a capitalist society which the bourgeois take the money from
the proletariats and the majority of the society are living in poverty
because of the fact that the capitalist dominant class are winning in the
conflict between the two group and they are taking most of the
advantage.
Symbolic interaction: the meaning of the thing in life is because of our
interaction with the world so in a society that most people are poor we
give the meaning that being poor is a normal status. (but as I have been
gathering information symbolic interaction will mostly examine the
difference that poverty brings to people interaction to one another rather
than thinking about what causes poverty)
Medieval approach: as it was the time that religion had full control, a
medieval person would answer to this question by superstition as in we
havent been good humans and its a way of punishment or it is our faith
to be poor.
4- One way of operationalizing religion is through participation, which means
we can measure religion by how much an individual or society practice
that religion, for example it can be divided by those who never participate,
those who go once a week (for example Friday prays), and those who
participate regularly
5- Auguste comte: since he applies scientific method to sociology and
believes sociology is like nature, he believes there is only one social reality
Karl marx: according to him social reality, thus social knowledge is relative
and he believes there are as many as social realities as there are social
classes (in a capitalist society there are two realities)
Max weber: according to him social knowledge is relative based on the
fact that there are different cultures, so there are as many as social
realities as there are cultures

Postmodern: they believe that social knowledge is completely relative

(even in the same culture there are different knowledge) and their focus is
on plurality so there are plural social realities. (I couldnt find it on lecture
notes nor on the internet but I think social knowledge might be so relative
in this theory that can differ from one person to another in that case there
are as many as social realities as there are individuals.)
6- No it cant reflect the society because based on their view society is not
just the basic summation of its parts for example a cake is different than
all of its ingredients.
