FAB4 Team Contract


Attendance
a. Teammates may only have two unexcused absences from class before being docked points.
b. Attendance outside of class is not mandatory; however, all members must keep up
communication, update members on progress, and make sure they are informed about what is
going on and what they need to do.
Static Group Roles
a. Claire leader
i. Establishes meeting agendas
ii. Formulates plans and timelines
iii. Assigns members to tasks
b. Elyssa manager (monitor-evaluator, team facilitator, creator)
i. Scribe: records assignments and due dates, goals/objectives, and progress discussed
during meetings, and then distributes the information among teammates
ii. Confirms task assignments and completion times with members after meetings
iii. Checks with members, making sure they are on-track with and aware of their deadlines
iv. Comes up with new ideas and strategies
v. Submits the assignments, providing the very finishing touches
c. All of us, mostly Beth and Kaitlin resource investigators
i. Reports on ideas, developments, and resources outside of the team
ii. Creates external contacts
d. Beth and Kaitlin completer-finishers
i. Searches for and attends to aspects of work that need more attention than usual
ii. Maintains a sense of urgency within the team
e. Kaitlin conflict-manager
i. Intervene and solve all conflicts that cannot otherwise be resolved between the parties
involved.
Communication
a. All teammates must communicate in a timely manner.
i. Notify other team members of plan changes, complications, etc. at least 24 hours in
advance, unless there is an emergency
ii. Notify other teammates upon completion of a task and when it will be sent to the next
person
b. If a teammate feels that they will be unable to make the deadline, she must notify other
teammates for help or an extension.
c. Team members that have read a GroupMe message must acknowledge that it has been seen (even
if it means Liking the message).
d. The submitter must notify all group members upon submitting an assignment.
Conflict
a. If there is a conflict, the two group members shall meet one-on-one, unless it is a group problem
that requires a meeting.
b. If the conflict cannot be resolved by the two members, the conflict-manager must step in
(Kaitlin).
c. If the conflict becomes uncontrollable, toxic, or unresolvable, the team shall approach Dr. Zinn.
Contingencies for deadline completion
a. First offense: if teammates do not meet the deadline and have not notified other teammates of
their inability to complete assignments by the deadline, then the conflict-manager will step in.
b. Second offense: if behavior continues beyond this point, the group shall approach Dr. Zinn for a
consultation about deducting points.
Evaluations
a. The team shall host two evaluations for each project:

i. The first evaluation will be a personal evaluation on the progress of a members tasks,
which will be administered in the midst of a project.
ii. The second evaluation will be a teammate evaluation in which teammates provide
feedback about each others performance, which will be administered after a project.
Meetings and goals
a. All goals shall follow a clearly-defined timeline using short-term and long-term goals.
b. Each meeting will begin with an evaluation of the progress of each members goal to determine
if a reassessment and change is required.
c. Addressment of all goals shall include:
i. Clearly defining the goal(s) that must be achieved
ii. Identifying the specific tasks that must be implemented to complete the goal(s)
iii. Assigning those tasks and their due dates
Cohesion
a. To foster cohesion and increase worker productivity, each meeting shall start off with group
members taking turns naming a favorite activity or item from a pre-determined subject and
explaining why she chose that item or activity. The group will then host a small discussion where
members reflect on and relate to what others have chosen.
