Lesson Title: Is It Bullying? - Lesson 1 of 2

Big Idea:

Computer - Emaze presentation

Formative Assessment (acceptable evidence):


Students will be given a post survey to determine their understanding of the
lessons

Lesson Preparation:
Essential Questions:
K, 1 - What is the difference between tattling and reporting, and between a
mean moment and bullying?
2-4 - What is the difference between teasing, a conflict, a mean moment, and
bullying?
Engagement/Hook:
Students will be verbally quizzed on their understanding of tattling,
reporting, teasing, a conflict, a mean moment, and bullying.

Instructional Procedures:
Counselor(s):
1. Counselor will ask students to define tattling, reporting, teasing, a conflict,
a mean moment and bullying.
2. Counselor will use the emaze presentation to then define each term for
the students and will provide examples of each.
3. Counselor will have students provide examples of each

4. Counselor will continue to use the emaze presentation to show students


examples of what bullying is and what bullying feels like.
5. Counselor will engage students in a conversation about the videos and will
incorporate discussion about the Zones of Regulation as well (what zone
would someone be in if they were being bullied?)
Students:
1. Students will provide definitions of the terms based on their current
knowledge.
2. Students will view the emaze presentation as the counselor defines each
term using examples
3. Students will provide their own examples upon request from the counselor.
4. Students will watch the vides pertaining to what bullying is and what
bullying feels like.
5. Students will participate in conversation about the videos and discussion
about how bullying relates to the Zones of Regulation.
