Using the Process Flow Diagram (PFD) of your manufacturing
process: a. Draw the fate and transport of the contaminant from the major industrial source going to the different matrices of the environment (atmosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere (flora, fauna and human). NOTE: You may use any of the natural biogeochemical cycles (carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, etc.) as your pattern. b. Consider the physical and chemical properties of the contaminant in determining the nutrient pools it will go to. c. Determine the major environmental impact the contaminant will cause as it is deposited in its final nutrient pool. d. Show the chemical reactions involved to justify your answers in numbers 1 to 3.
