that people with disabilities
may not be discriminated
against because of their

incorporated six major
components or guarantees
that have forever changed the
landscape of education across
the United States.
1. Free appropriate
public education
(FAPE)
2. least restrictive
environment (LRE)
3. individualized
education program
(IEP)

Nothing.

What is the Improvement

Act?

This is a response to
intervention or RTI
movement. RTI is important
because it helps give an extra
push to students who need
extra review and help in
subjects most kids dont such
as reading and math.

Javits Gifted and Talented

Students Education Act-1988

Nothing.

What is the JGTS Education

Act?

The Jacob Javits Gifted and

Talented Students Education
Act (Javits) was first passed
by Congress in 1988 as part
of the Elementary and
Secondary Education Act and
was most recently
reauthorized through
the Every Student Succeeds
Act to support the
development of talent in U.S.
schools. The Javits Act,
which is the only federal

program dedicated
specifically to gifted and
talented students, does not
fund local gifted education
programs.
