Intro the world religions and worldviews this is the subject that interesting because in this subject I

will know the other religion tradition and belief. I learn the similarities and differences off all religion
like differences in the creed, code, cult of the other religion. I learn also the history of the religion and
also who the founder of the religion. And I know how they describe their god. In this subject my
perspective in life is by knowing the tradition and belief of other religion than my religion now.
History and Founder
The Chinese sage called Confucius was not known in Europe before Roman Catholic missionaries
from the Society of Jesus came to china in the seventeenth century. A relatively recent invention, the
English term Confucianism was not found before 1687, nor does it have an equivalent in the Chinese
language. Seeing a strong link between Chinese cultural values and the classical text attributed to
Confucius and his followers, the missionaries not surprisingly named this tradition Confucianism.
The origins and development of Confucianism is inextricably interwoven into the history and culture
of Chinese cilivization. Unlike other religious worldviews, it professes no belief in deities or in an
afterlife, and has no clergy, sacred places, and fixed religious services. Its collection of revered text is
not regarded as containing divine revelation. It stresses orthopraxis over orthodoxy. It has nothing to do
with asceticism and monasticism.
The founder known in the west as Confucius, was named Kong Qiu, later Kong Zhongni. However,
the Chinese people refer him to as Kong Zi or Kong Fuzi(Lord/Master Kong), which western
missionaries and scholars Latinized as Confucius. Kong Fuzi was born into a minor aristocratic family
on twenty eighth of September in the year 551 B.C.E in the Chinese state of Lu.
Doctrines
Five lasting relationship
1. Parent to child. There should be kindness in the parent and filial piety in the child.
2. Husband to wife. There should be righteous behavior and affection in the husband and
obedience and fidelity in the wife.
3. Elder sibling to younger sibling. Among sibling, there should be gentility and concern in the
elder and humility and reliability in the younger
4. Teacher to student. There should be consideration and guidance among teachers and deference
and respect among student.
5. Ruler to subject. There should be benevolence among rulers and loyalty among their subject.
Creed
The understanding of God
Strictly speaking, the Confucian tradition has no deity. However, tian (Hanyu sky heaven) is a key
Confucian concept. In Chinese thought, heaven or sky(tian) does not exist separate from earth. Heaven
is yang, while earth is yin-both exist in balance, seeking harmony. In early Confucian tradition, the
concept of tian expresses a form of pantheism, a belief the equates God with the forces of nature. What
the Daoists called the Dao, the Confucians call tian or perhaps Li.
Code
To be religious, in the Confucian sense, is to be engaged in ultimate self-transformation as a
communal act. Salvation means the full realization of the anthropocosmic reality inherent in our own
human nature. The Confucian prescription for ultimate transformation is an anthropocosmic vision a

commitment to cosmic humanism that place human well-being and flourishing as the central aim of life.
Being innately good, human beings who are fully committed can achieve perfection through individual
effort: education, performance and appreciation of the arts, responsibility toward others, personal
integrity, and a serious attitude in ones conduct and character.
Cult
By the time of Confucius. Religious had fallen into disuse, because they were deemed wasteful and
impractical in a time of widespread warfare and rampant lawlessness. Since Confucius and his followers
believed that an idealized feudal system was the best form of government, society needed an elaborate
structure, reinforced by etiquette, to be effective. As such, the rituals of religion served to unite the
people, making the more appreciative of order, harmony, community, and cooperation.
I choose Confucianism because in this religion I know it has a good tradition and belief. Example is
the one family, one child policy. The differences of Christianity and Confucianism are too many like
Confucianism is no god while the Christianity have a god. And they difference in their tradition and
beliefs. Confucianism change my outlook in life because of their policies. Their policy like one child
policy is needed of our country for stop the increase the population of our country. I help by following
the tradition and belief, in this way I can introduced myself as part of the religion that chose. I plan very
well before I make a move especially in the public to get the trust the other people to me.
Conclusion
Confucianism was a philosophy: an outline of moral, social spiritual and political aspects.
Confucianism teaches the people during the age of philosopher to learn how to respect and help each
other in a better way. Confucianism teaches the people can be good by their own efforts if they just
follow rules of good conduct. Confucianism teaches the aspect of loving and respecting one another and
to pay respect to the elders and ancestors. The teaching of this also helped people to learn how to resolve
problem during that time of period. As a moral system, Confucianism led to despair and remembered in
the west as only a collection pf practical sociopolitical saying. Families use Confucianism as a base for
the family hierarchy today, although not as strictly.
I there for conclude that many religion that differences in tradition, belief, similarities, history, god
and the founder. I know also how there describe their god. In this subject I learn how the religion born
and who cause why religion born. Its hard for me to understand some word or some tradition in some
religion because Im not familiar in that word. And that motivate myself to understand and study this
subject. High grade is not important, important is what did you learn in this subject for all the semester.
