Diet Chart

Diet from birth to 6 months


Exclusive breast feeds and not even water
Diet advice at 6 months
1.Kanji(3 parts of parboiled rice+1 part of roasted Bengal gram) gently fry and make it a
powder and store in a air tight container. Take 3 spoons of the powder and add water and
boil well. Add salt/jaggery for taste.Intially give small volume, once a day in dilute watery
consistency. After the baby gets used to it twice a day, larger volume and thick like idly
better.
2. Boiled mashed Potato
3. Boiled mashed Carrot
4. Idly with Curd/Dhall water
5. Dhal Rice
6. Cooked Apple
There should be a minimum of 10-15 days gap between two new foods.
Initially start with small quantity and gradually step us the quantity
Diet at 9 months
Continue the above and you can add the following one by one.
Banana
Egg boiled(give yellow first, subsequently white)
Pongal
Uppuma
Iddiappam
Rasam Rice
Sambar Rice
Curd Rice
Soft steam cooked food
Diet at 1 year
All home made food including the non vegetarian food
Avoid milk (Cow/Aavin),juices,biscuts till 1 years
