Computer Science for Engineers


My goal in this month will be to refresh my engineering skills.

I hope to form a contact group that I can share content with or exchange
feedback during my time in the program.
I plan on using the discussion boards and connect resources to get in touch
with other students. I also plan on remaining in contact with my instructors.
Strategies and Tactics:
Keeping up to date with the new articles and links from sources like
Gamasutra, Apple or Microsoft.
Use LinkedIn to network with my peers and exchange tips or feedback.
Learn a wide range of programming languages and game engines or tools.

Approaches to Game Design


Here, I plan on expanding my area of comfort and try to get involved with other
game designs I am unfamiliar with.
I will ask my peers which games they prefer as well as research any area that I, or
my instructor(s), can see unfamiliarity with.
I hope to get my hands on some other games, even if rented, to get more
familiar with unknown areas or styles.
Strategies and Tactics:
Reaching out to local game shops or Full Sail clubs to play other games or
designs that can stimulate or support learning.
Research top trending genres or styles.

I hope to absorb as many systems as I can, and perhaps get in touch with the
instructor for new and upcoming trends.
As the game industry discovers new technology or methodologies, I plan on
staying in check with them.

promote certain conversations.

Get involved with many forums and discussion boards to share knowledge,
feedback, or ideas.
Research start ups and provide feedback or questions about certain methods or
decisions in development.

Here, I hope I can get together with a group or two to get involved with a side project
involving the material in this course.

Here I hope to refresh my side projects and hopefully get them into a more
streamlined state for consumers.

My goal this class would be to collaborate with my peers and try to focus on the
many different players and their play styles.
I also hope to implement some kind of analytics into a project and track them
effectively.

and Professional Presentation
Here I hope to finalize a complete project into a formal presentation. I hope
that I can catch the attention of the audience members and professionals
and blow them away.
I also hope to have a team formed by this time and get a plan secured to
continue to work together in a project or company.

I plan on having my family also see my presented work and get their love
and support as I always had.
Strategies and Tactics:
Networking with my peers and staff friends to get as much feedback as
possible.
Sharing my progress throughout my social media profile on the best
milestones.

Using my Linked In profile as a portfolio to share my thoughts and progress


over time.

My Mentor
My mentor will be someone with the passion for learning and challenge seeking.
One who will question our current understanding to evolve into a greater means
for the future.
My mentor will look at the situation and bring a different perspective on it. Just
because something may seem one sided or even vulnerable, does not mean it
has no place anywhere.
