In a digital world, business services need to be digital. You can think of application
programming interfaces (APIs) as the glue that connects services, applications, and systems,
or as the basic grammar for how digital businesses communicate about their capabilities and
share data. As you look ahead to 2016, first look back to the best tutorials this past year about
APIs for IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) and IBM Operational Decision Manager
(ODM).
APIs are essential to driving your organization's digital transformation, innovation, and new
opportunities of the future. While APIs are not new in computer programming, the open standards
that allow digital enterprises to use business services in a consistent way are new. The following
tutorials can guide you in working in the new API economy.
I've selected the best API tutorials for IBM Business Process Manager (BPM) and IBM
Operational Decision Manager (ODM) that were published in 2015. The developerWorks Business
Process Management zone has covered topics ranging from using IBM BPM Representational
State Transfer (REST) APIs, to integrating logging APIs with IBM ODM, and creating integration
APIs in IBM BPM to use with IBM Cloud Orchestrator. If your favorite didn't make the list, post
it in the Comments. If you'd like to share your experience in using APIs as part of your digital
transformation, contact me!

Integrate your service into the cloud with the IBM Cloud
Orchestrator SDK
Fabio Cerri
The IBM Cloud Orchestrator Development Kit for Integration Toolkit helps you create content
packs for IBM Cloud Orchestrator in a quick, reliable, and repeatable way. This software
development kit (SDK) makes it easy to create integration APIs in IBM Business Process Manager
through an intuitive user interface or automatically by relying on declarative API definitions that are
compliant with common open standards. Use the IBM Cloud Orchestrator SDK to easily integrate
your service in the cloud.
