Community Resources

During the meeting at the Toast Masters Club, there was a series of events. The meeting
started off with the introduction of the Toast Master of the Evening, Toast Master Jeremy. After
being introduced, Toast Master Jeremy gave an opening speech. In this speech he spoke about
some key responsibilities of Toast Masters that is required for each meeting. One of the
requirements is that each Toast Master has to prepare a speech according to the objectives for the
meeting. He also highlighted the main events of the night and the theme under which the events
will be displayed. The theme for the night was going the distance. Also, he highlighted the fact
that only four Toast Masters will be giving speeches for the night. After which their speech will
be evaluated by fellow Toast Masters. He also mentioned that each speech will be time by Toast
Master Renita. After Toast Master Jeremys opening speech, he then progressed to introduce the
names of the speakers and what their speech will be about.
The first speaker was Toast Master Prajna. Toast Master Prajna was introduced by Toast
Master Greg who is her evaluator for the night. Toast Master (TM) Greg mentioned that TM
Prajna was doing her Ice Breaker speech. The Ice Breaker speech is a speech which will
introduce TM Prajna to the rest of the Club. TM Greg mentioned the requirements of TM
Prajnas speech. TM Prajnas speech must contain a clear potent, body, and a conclusion. The
name TM Prajnas ice breaker speech was The move from Mangalore to Cayman. During
her speech, she spoke about her reason for moving to Cayman, the challenges she faced, and how
she overcame them. At the end of the speech, Tm Greg evaluated TM Prajnas speech. Tm Greg
gave feedback about his critique of TM Prajnas speech after which he welcomed her as a new
member of the team.

Community Resources

The second Speaker of the night was TM Ingrid. TM Ingrid was evaluated by TM Ayon.
TM Ayon gave an opening speech, entailing how body language is used to communicate. He
also included what is required of TM Ingrid. TM Ingrid was required to present her speech with
the use of body language and is also create a vivid imagination of her speech. After being
introduced, TM Ingrid engaged in her speech. Her speech was about a real life situation that
happened to her. She also mentioned three valuable strategies that she suggested everyone should
exercise when in life threatening situations. Praying, exercising self-control, and becoming
vulnerable. After TM Ingrids speech, she was later awarded by the fourth speaker TM Jennifer.
The Third speaker was TM Clever. TM Clever was evaluated by TM Finley. TM was
required to display the four major aspects of a speech. These aspects are; entertaining,
information, demonstrative, and persuasive. TM Clever was also required to use his speech to
connect with his audience by various means. After a well presented speech, TM clever was
evaluated by TM Finley.
Attending this Toast Master meeting has helped me to discussion new ways to develop
my confidence when speaking. I see where developing my speech is beneficial to my personal
and professional life.
