Re-development of Indore Mill

Indore was known as the city of mills till 80s, there were 7 mills in
Indore, it was a huge city for textile production, from handloom to
cotton mills, which has now become extinct. Some of the lands
have already been redeveloped with skyscraper buildings or
commercial centres. But the textile value of the commercial capital
Indore
is
still
lost.
To save the historical background of Indore and the lost textile
techniques, handloom, and power loom. All the mills of Indore
which have closed are: Hukamchand Mill, Rajkumar Mill, Malwa Mill,
Swadeshi Mill, Kalyan Mill, Bhandari Mill, and Hope Mill.
Proposal would redevelop the mills into a centre for:

textile learning and research centre

regular workshops spaces
studio class rooms
Handloom training centre
Dye and Printing
Museum
Library
Interactive spaces for communication
Exhibition areas

The re-development of mill would create a space for Textile back

Indore with its lost glory and it would help new designers also to
contribute and learn from these centres.
