Thesolution
Researchershavesolvedthisproblembyconductingposthoctests.Thesetestsareusedwhenhehavefound
statisticalsignificancebetweenconditionsbutwhenwedontknowwherethesignificantdifferencesare.Thesetests
arenotusedwhentheresultsofa1WayBetweenSubjectsANOVAarenotsignificantbecausethereisnoneed.But
whenwedofindastatisticallysignificantresult,whentheSig.valueislessthan.05,weneedtousethesetests.
Typesofteststouse
Whenyouanalyzedyourdata,youmightrememberbeingaskedtoclickonthePostHocbutton.Thisbuttonbrought
upaPostHocMultipleComparisonsboxwithmanyoptionstocheck.Theseoptionsrepresentedvariousposthoc
tests.Mostofthesetestshavestrangenames(likeBonferroniandScheffe)butthatsjustbecausetheyarenamed
afterthepeoplewhoinventedthem.Youwereaskedtochecktwotests,TukeyandDunnettsT3.Youreallycouldhave
checkedasmanyasyouliked.TheTukeytestispopularsowewillfocusonthatone.Ifyoufindasignificantresultwith
