Replacing the Feeder Wheel

MaxFire (S/N > 5,000) and UBB

Reasons for feeder wheel motor replacement:

• Feeder wheel is warped.


• Any problem associated with only the wheel.

Tools and equipment needed to replace the feeder wheel:

• 5/16" nut driver or socket and ratchet


• Phillips Screw Driver
• Vacuum

Replacing the feeder wheel

□ Unplug the stove.


□ Open the hopper lid.
□ Remove all of the corn in the hopper.
□ Remove the four 5/16" screws holding the feeder wheel cover.
See Figure 1.
□ Remove the feeder wheel cover
□ Remove four shoulder bolts and springs from the Feeder Wheel. See Figure 2.
□ Remove the feeder wheel.
□ Vacuum the area under the feeder wheel.
□ Put the feeder wheel back on the hub, installing the four shoulder bolts and
springs.
□ Replace the feeder wheel cover.
□ Secure it with the four 5/16" screws.
□ Plug the stove in.
□ Check for proper operation.

Definition of terms:

Hub - The round metal piece that connects the feeder wheel motor shaft to the
feeder wheel.
Self-tapping screw - A screw with a small drill bit built into the end of it. It will
screw into metal without a pilot hole.
